Books are an invaluable treasure trove of human knowledge, playing a vital role in raising awareness, enhancing understanding, promoting cultural development and shaping human character. For a long time, reading has been regarded as an elegant habit and an essential spiritual need for everyone. To honor the importance of books and spread the culture of reading, the Government has designated April 21 each year as Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day.
This year, Vietnam's Books and Reading Culture Day marks its fourth edition, with various activities aimed at encouraging the development, establishment and spread of the habit of reading in the community. The event is carried out with messages such as "Reading Culture - Connecting Communities", "With Books, Entering the New Era of National Growth" and "Read Books - Enrich Knowledge, Nourish Ambition, Promote Innovation and Creativity"...Additionally, the activities within this event are organized by combining both traditional and modern methods, in line with the current digital transformation trends. Along with this, activities to honor readers, authors, publishers, printers, distributors, libraries, collectors, promoters of books as well as organizations and individuals who have contributed to the development of reading culture in the community, are also given special attention.
In Binh Duong, activities to celebrate Vietnam's Books and Reading Culture Day are being held enthusiastically and diversely, attracting a large number of participants, especially young people. Along with the opening ceremony of the fourth Vietnam Books and Reading Culture Day in 2025, various units have carried out promotional activities to highlight the significance of books and reading culture; book exhibitions, honoring authors and works written about Binh Duong... Notably, the Youth Union has also cooperated with relevant units to organize competitions such as "Golden Bell Rings", "Reading Day Festival"…
It can be said that programs and activities responding to this special cultural event aim at further affirming the position, role and importance of books in enhancing knowledge, developing thinking, education and fostering human characters. These activities also encourage and develop the reading movement in the community. This will also contribute to creating a reading culture environment, spreading reading habits in agencies, units and schools while speeding up the process of building a learning society...
