The theme is upheld by World Population Day of July 11, 2017 to improve awareness and obligation of Party Committee levels, authorities, boards, sectors, unions, and the whole society of the role and importance of demography and family planning towards the rapid and sustainable development of the nation with orientation of strategies of demography and reproduction health of Vietnam from 2011 to 2020.
Beneficial investments
The message of World Population Day of July 11, 2017 is to encourage investments into family planning to help improve health and woman rights in the world. Such investments are beneficial in terms of economy and other benefits promoting development process. Feminine on having more choices and good healthcare as well as higher capacity and positions shall contribute at the first hand more to their families and ultimately to their nations and humankind. Their families shall become better in terms of economics and their children shall enjoy better learning opportunities – the precedent factors of prosperity for future generations. This also creates foundation for demographic benefit returns and prosperity improvement globally.

Medicine Doctor Nguyen Van Tham, the Director of Provincial Demography and Family Planning Department informed of proactive demographic and family planning by maintaining birth rate reduction with sustainable replaced birth rate. As the matter of fact, demographic scale has matched local socio-economic development with low birth rate and maintained replaced birth rate. The gender ratio is normally at below 106 males to 100 females. Public awareness of gender ratio imbalance is improved to reduce gender imbalance. Pre-marriage health consultancy is implemented along with healthcare for old people. Services of family planning including premium services shall be extended to people in need including free and service offers.
Various responding activities
To effectuate demographic and family planning, local authority has coordinated with the mass media to disseminate policies and decisions of the Party and the State for strategic implementation from 2011 to 2020. Meetings, workshops, talks, seminars, exhibition, and information dissemination of contents, messages, and topic of World Population Day shall be organized while commemorating activities shall be combined with the campaign of improving information dissemination and services of reproduction healthcare and family planning.
“Couples have rights to access and make use of anti-conception methods to well practice family planning and improve their live hood as well as developing the nation by maintaining birth rate and gaps of birth giving at reasonable terms for better education and care-taking,” said Tham on aiming for the family planning targets.
