In the past mid-Aug., Huynh Tieu Huong, director of Que Huong Charity Center was honored as the world ambassador for charity projects by the Congress of the Philippines. The honoring ceremony was solemnly held at House of Representatives-Congress of Philippines under the leadership of Mr. Hon. Nepali II M Gonzales, chairman of the Legislation Council of the Congress of the Philippines; Mr. Feliciano Belmonte, Jr - the speaker of the House; Congresswoman Emi Calixto-Rubiano, Representative of Lone Congressional District of Pasay City. Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong is the only foreigner so far conferred the title by the Philippines. With the title, Ms.Huynh Tieu Huong can involve in charity projects in the scale of world. To reach this honor, Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong has created close relationships with poor people, women and children in the Philippines and many times she directly and indirectly joins in charity activities in this country.

Huong (second from right).Ms.Huynh Tieu Huong has long became famous as the mother of hundreds of orphans, disabled and street children. At present, Que Huong Charity Center has taken care of 330 abandoned children. Many of them have integrated into the society after enjoying thorough care and education at the center. All children at the center have surname of Huynh (the last name of Huynh Tieu Huong). Presently, Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong's list of residence book is the longest residence book list in Vietnam recognized as Vietnam Guiness record. Originated from a street kid, Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong luckily enjoyed the help from a kind-hearted person. After enjoying a stable living, Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong gathered abandoned and homeless children to bring up them. She revealed "I myself was used to be a homeless child, so I really love children with the same situation. They are in dire need of love of a mother and I willingly welcome them to Que Huong charity center".

Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong donates notebooks and books to Cambodian students.Enjoying care at the center, orphans herein feel comfortable. They have enjoyed best conditions of learning and spiritual activities on holidays and Tet. In this school year, the center sends as many as 80 to schools in Di An town. For disabled children, the center have taken care and taught them on the spot. Meanwhile, other children with aspiration of vocational learning, they will be sent to vocational training classes.Aside from taking care of orphans at the center, Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong has over the past years helped other unlucky circumstances from many parts of the country. Over the past 11 years, the center has granted 2,640 gratitude houses to poor privileged families, 4,750 scholarships to needy students, donated VND14.7bil to poor people, placed jobs for 8,500 people, granted 18,561 wheelchairs, 950 bikes and 41,556 gifts to the poor nationwide.

Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong grants medical equipments to the Philippines.Ms. Huynh Tieu Huong's benevolent heart has overcome borders when she held a charity visit to Cambodia in 2011. Going with her was Nam Truong Son JSC and the high-ranking cadre delegation of Military Zone 9. At Caldal province of Cambodia, Ms.Huynh Tieu Huong granted 100 wheelchairs to war invalids, sick soldiers, disabled old people. Moreover, Tieu Huong donated VND60mil to Cambodia Royal's Guard High Command to build 2 charity houses to local needy people. Especially, Tieu Huong granted 50 scholarships each worth US$50 and 4,000 notebooks and books worth VND12mil to underprivileged talented pupils in the province. Moreover, Tieu Huong donated instant noddles, books, clothes, soaps with the total value of over VND200mil to Vietnamese students living in Bien Ho, granted VND21mil in cash to a school in this area to repair and expand classrooms in service for all students' learning.Reported by H.Thai - Translated by A.C
