Town-based cultural centers have built very spaciously at society’s development requirement as well as people’s demand of enjoying spiritual life. The town has also invested and upgraded its museum, library, cultural house for children and historical cultural relic sites. Nguyen Thanh Huyen, Deputy Head of the town’s Division of Culture and Information said that apart from the State budget, under the motto of “The State and people work together”, many individuals have bravely spent money on constructing cultural-sports institutions. The town is now home to 91 sports facilities, 18 recreational areas for children and 40 karaoke bars. Also under the socialization form, a swimming pool of the town’s Center for Culture and Information has met standards of construction, serving people’s demand of taking physical exercises. The center’s sporting event hall has got better and better, absorbing the participation of numerous people.
Effective operation
The town has diversified models serving people’s spiritual life. Upon this, people from all strata have actively taken part in cultural-sports activities.
As surveyed, town-based library welcomes 17,000 readers every year. This showed that people’s reading culture is still maintained. There are also more than 3,500 people taking part in cultural-sports activities at clubs monthly. At the provincial Sports Festival 2018, a sports delegation of the town also won 16 gold medals, 25 silver medals and 26 bronze medals.
The activities at community learning, cultural and sports centers of town-based communes and wards have also upheld their effectiveness. Over the past time, they coordinated with sectors, mass organizations to organize cultural-sports activities for people on Tet and great holidays. There was an increase in the number of learners at town-based cultural-sports clubs and groups. On average, each of them absorbs 2,100 participants every month.
Nguyen Thi Kim Nguyen, Vice-Chairwoman of Tan Uyen town’s People’s Committee said that under the leadership of the local authorities at all levels, town-based learning community, cultural and sports centers have worked stably and gained certain results in cultural-sports movements. They have basically met people’s demand of taking physical exercises.
