The year 2024 has left its mark, the stature and position of Binh Duong are increasingly affirmed. Contributing to these achievements are the efforts of people from all walks of life in the province in many different positions, roles and jobs; including 21 outstanding citizens of Binh Duong province in 2024 in the fields of economy, culture, society, national defense and security. A typical example is Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, President of the provincial Red Cross Society. From 2018 to present, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh and the Standing Committee of the provincial Red Cross Society have carried out many humanitarian activities and programs that have had a strong and widespread influence and have become regular activities of the association at all levels. For 6 consecutive years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh has achieved the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level, and is honored to be a National Emulation Fighter in 2024. With an economic scale of 500 trillion VND, Binh Duong's economy ranks 3rd in the country, after Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi. To date, Binh Duong has 29 industrial parks, attracting nearly 5,000 foreign-invested enterprises with 42.4 billion USD and about 73,000 domestic enterprises with investment capital equivalent to FDI capital. The urbanization rate of the whole province is over 85% and strives to become a centrally-run city by 2030. In particular, after 28 years of construction and development, Binh Duong's development model was selected by the Central Theoretical Council to study and summarize the development model in 40 years of national renovation.
In addition, Mr. Dinh Ngoc Khuong, a farmer in An Binh commune, Phu Giao district; with his determination to overcome difficulties and rise up to become rich legitimately, he has become a "billionaire farmer". Currently, his family has a 12-hectare farm model, of which 3 hectares of durian meet VietGAP standards, harvesting 50 tons/year; 5 hectares of high-tech chicken coops with 2 products achieving 3-star OCOP standards: chicken eggs and durian, creating regular income for 15 workers, an average of 9 million VND/month. Mr. Khuong's family has contributed to local social welfare programs with an average of 50 million VND/year. He was awarded the title of “Excellent Farmer” in 2021 and a certificate of merit from the Prime Minister in 2022.
And Dr. Nguyen Kim Hung, Deputy Head of the Department of Neuro-Oncology (Binh Duong General Hospital), always upholds the sense of responsibility in his work, putting the common interests of the collective first. In his position as Deputy Head of the Department, Dr. Hung and the Department's leaders have come up with many solutions to overcome difficulties to effectively carry out the work of taking care of people's health.
Along with that, the province's high-performance sports continue to achieve positive results, with many athletes participating in competitions and winning continental and world championships, bringing glory to Vietnamese sports and Binh Duong province. In 2024, Binh Duong athletes continued to excel, winning 5 gold medals, 4 silver medals at the world championship (billiards, bodybuilding, Jujitsu, Pencak Silat), 3 bronze medals at the world championship (billiards, Jujitsu, Muay) and 3 gold medals at the Asian championship (bodybuilding, petanque and Vovinam).

Speaking at the commemorative program, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, emphasized that over the past 28 years, under the leadership of the provincial Party Committee, inheriting and promoting the heroic revolutionary tradition in the resistance war as well as the achievements of Song Be province in the past; the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Duong province have always been united, striving, dynamic, creative, daring to think, knowing how to do to overcome many difficulties and challenges and achieve very important achievements in all fields of socio-economics, national defense - security, Party building and the political system. In particular, growth indicators in attracting foreign investment, import and export, budget revenue and expenditure etc. have always been in the top of the country.

After many years of efforts, at the end of 2023, Binh Duong was recognized by the World Smart Community Forum as the Top 1 community with a typical smart city development strategy in the world... In 2024, despite many challenges due to the impact of the world economic and political situation, Binh Duong still achieved positive results in socio-economic development and national defense - security. Notably, the GRDP growth rate reached 7.48%, higher than the average of the whole country and the Southeast region; attracting foreign investment reached 2.2 billion USD, up to now the province has attracted 42.4 billion USD, becoming the locality attracting the second largest FDI capital in the country, after Ho Chi Minh city.
The cultural - social sector achieved many positive results, with the quality of education - training improved at all levels. In the 2023-2024 school year, Binh Duong ranked 4th in the country in terms of average high school graduation exam scores. People's health care was focused on, the quality of medical examination and treatment was improved. High-performance sports achieved many positive results, raising the position of Binh Duong sports in the national and international arenas... Mr. Vo Van Minh emphasized that 2025 is a very important year for the successful implementation of the Resolution of the provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, a year of acceleration, breakthrough, and reaching the target and tasks. Mr. Vo Van Minh called on the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army and the business community in the province to continue to unite, determined to accelerate and break through right from the first months of the year to successfully implement the goals and tasks of 2025, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of the entire 2020-2025 term. With “unanimity” linked by new expectations, Binh Duong will continue to develop strongly and steadily with the country entering a new era, an era of rising and prosperous development.
