On Dec 23, Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Thuan An city inaugurated and put into use a Covid-19 patient treatment area. Participants of the inauguration ceremony included Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Nguyen Lan Hieu, Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital.
The Covid-19 patient treatment area was built at An Phu area general clinic in An Phu ward with a scale of 200 beds, including 68 beds for severe patients, on the second tier of Thuan An Medical Center. Total investment capital of the treatment area is about 20 billion VND and 99 medical staff and doctors. The number of patients being treated at the facility is 58 patients.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Doctor Nguyen Lan Hieu emphasized: "Now that the Covid-19 pandemic has moved to a new stage, the percentage of people in Binh Duong receiving vaccines is very high, patients are mainly isolated, treated and monitored at home by mobile medical stations. Therefore, medical centers have changed their anti-pandemic plans, focus on treatment on the second and third tiers. Currently, Binh Duong is widely implementing a model of separate treatment areas for Covid patients in medical centers of districts, towns and cities. This is the right direction that Binh Duong has chosen to improve the quality of treatment to reduc mortality.”
