Incentive policies in labor recruitment

'The Cultural-Socio Committee under provincial People’s

Council visiting workers and carrying out a survey of

implementation of the Labor Law in businesses

Binh Duong’s labor market is thriving with the great demand for laborers. It is estimated that province-based businesses this year need around 70,000 laborers Many businesses urgently need to recruit between 300 and 2,000 laborers at their demand for production and business. Industries of footwear, woodwork, food, household electricity…are now in intensive need of laborers.

In recent days, provincial Job Center has seen sharp growth in number of businesses registering to recruit laborers, but there have not been enough laborers to supply for them. Some businesses previously accepted to cut down on their staff, due to the impacts of the world economic crisis. By now, they have enjoyed many orders, but found it difficult to lure laborers.

To attract more laborers, some businesses have provided a lot of incentive policies on vocational training, allowances...Their recruitment requirements for laborers have also been lowered. But now, there is still a serious shortage of laborers, making businesses rush to seek and recruit laborers at their production and business activities.

Other fact that many other provinces have developed industrial parks and migrant workers have opted for staying in their hometowns. This has also made labor shortage in Binh Duong become more serious. Before the situation, province-based job centers have continued linking up with other localities to supply laborers for businesses herein.

Phan Thanh Son, director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalid and Social Affairs said that province-based vocational training schools need to boost training for skills at businesses’ demand. Before the price hikes, businesses also need to further improve the quality of meals for laborers and seriously implement the adjustment of minimum salary and support policies for them…
