Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee has just approved the general socio-economic planning for Bac Tan Uyen District until 2025 to maximize the geographic strength of a model ecosystem urban area. To gain such target, Bac tan Uyen District has focused on developing infrastructure with the movement of new rural area construction and investment promotion to enforce socio-economic development.
The effects of new rural area construction movement
In 2015, Bac Tan Uyen District had totally 5 communes approved by the province as new rural areas including Binh My, Tan My, Thuong Tan, Lac An, and Tan Dinh. Local People’s Committee demanded the steering board of new rural area construction in the district and communes to continue with encouragement of unity, creativity, and promotion of new rural area construction. The district aimed for the end of 2016 to approve two more communes as new rural areas for meeting 15 to 16 criteria of new rural areas.

Nguyen Van Rin, the Deputy Chair of Tan Dinh Commune People’s Committee informed that in 6 months of the year, the commune has fulfilled the usage of two rural traffic roads, elevating to 19 constructions of fulfilled rural areas. Those roads have been constructed with concrete covering 7,676 meters at the cost of VND 3.3 billion, of which VND 2.4 billion has been contributed by local people and VND 383.7 million by enterprises and 12,254 square meters of VND 1.8 billion including 176 working days for youths and local people in the commune.
Talking to reporters about resources for huge constructions, Rin informed that Tan Dinh as the largest remote commune has faced various disadvantages of social welfare. The new rural area construction movement has breathe new lives to local people and the construction of electricity, traffic, and stations servicing the necessary daily needs of local people. Local people have proposed to join the movements and showed their readiness to donate land of vegetables for local welfare constructions. Thanks to this, majority of the hamlets have had their own beautiful offices and children have had their places of entertainment and learning. The elderlies have had their places of cultural activities with improved rural lives.
“The mentioned expenditures have been only VND 200 million to construct rural area construction area; however, the actual needs have been greater. Thus, local authorities have agreed upon socialization of rural constructions to combine all the resources for traffic development of communes. The joint efforts have truly offered great spiritual and material strength,” said Rin.
Foundation created for ecologic urban areas
Along with investment promotion and expansion of local industrial parks, Bac Tan Uyen District has promoted its own geographic advantages as a rural district of orchards along the two large rivers of Song Be and Dong Nai. Bui Quang Phuc, the Deputy Urban Manager of the district informed that the communes have been promoted with orchards thanks to resourceful water and fertilizers of the rivers. The district has invested to various routes to connect those areas with general infrastructure of the district to promote its potentials of tourism and socio-economic development.
Provincial People’s Committee has implemented investments of major traffic routes to connect Bac Tan Uyen District to regional and national traffic routes including Bau Bang, Phu Giao, Bac Tan Uyen, Vanh Dai 4 of 8-lane highway from East to West. The local urban development planning institution has considered the routes as the locomotion for socio-economic development of Bac Tan Uyen District, contributing greatly to socio-economic development of the province. Along with infrastructure investment and completion, Bac Tan Uyen District has called upon investors to invest into industrial parks and urban areas in line with general planning of the province and the district with priority for high-tech, service, and advanced industries without environment pollution and less use of manual workers.
Thanks to Provincial People’s Committee, 99.7% of local households have powered with electricity along with 6 concentrated water supplying stations and better traffic routes which have been aimed to be improved for better rural areas on the basis of ecologic urban development.
