In 2019, provincial Labor Union has launched an emulation movement of “Innovation, creation and effectiveness in Trade Union activities”, aiming to improve the position and prestige of the Trade Union, contributing to uniting and gathering laborers; build up a strong working class and a powerful Trade Union organization and well realize its role as a bridge between the Party, people and laborers. Accordingly, provincial Labor Union has taken numerous solutions to well implement the emulation movement.
Trade Union activities improved
In 2018, Trade Unions at all levels of the province bent on taking care of and protecting trade unionists and laborers’ legitimate rights and interests through practical activities with improvement both in form and content. They also continued well maintaining many significant programs, namely “Gathering in Tet holiday”, “Sentimental spring bus”, “Workers’ Month”…; reached 136.3% of the target on the establishment of trade union locals in non-State enterprises and 175% of the target on the admission of new trade unionists…
Especially, the whole province now has a total of 1,528 valid labor deals applied at enterprises with trade union locals or 58.8% of total. Trade Unions at all levels of the province made inspection tours at 68 enterprises; realized 4,647 talks on legal consultancy for 10,700 people via telephone…

Keeping old laborers, absorbing the new ones
The province is now home to around 1.2million laborers. Last year, authorities at all levels of the province concentrated on directing agencies, sectors, mass organizations and mobilizing enterprises to take care of laborers, especially policies on social housing, healthcare, culture, education, employment and other essential demands…
Truong Thi Bich Hanh, Chairwoman of provincial Labor Union said that through trade unions at all levels, provincial People’s Committee awarded 10,350 gifts to workers with extremely difficult circumstances. Trade Unions at all levels of the province also gave nearly 5,000 bus tickets to needy workers to return their hometowns for Tet, up 1,000 compared to 2018; coordinated with provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize 20 art performance nights in celebration of the Party and Lunar New Year for laborers. Trade union locals also teamed up with enterprises to organize year-end parties, lucky draw programs with valuable gifts for laborers…
The above-mentioned care activities have made laborers keep their mind on work and many have selected Binh Duong as their second hometown to live and work. After the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2019, the province had more than 98% of laborers caming back to work, the highest rate of the whole country. Many enterprises in the province have also recruited more laborers at their demand for production expansion.
