Before, during and after Tet holiday, especially in Ram Thang Gieng festival, numerous tourists nationwide make a pilgrimage to Binh Duong province, so the number of street food will be consumed double from the ordinary days.
Doctor Pham Thu Yen, vice director of Thu Dau Mot city Medical Center said that right from the early year, the municipal steering board of food safety and hygiene convened to launch plans for 2015, allocate tasks for members and simultaneously steer units and People’s Committee of wards to concentrate on implementing key contents in the locality.
Accordingly, the steering board across 14 wards in this city was reinforced to carry out inspection on food safety and hygiene in a bid to ensure food safety and hygiene during the last Tet holiday and Ram Thang Gieng festival.
Together with dissemination before, during and after Tet holiday 2015, the center’s cadres cooperated with functional agencies to inspect and fine violations of food safety and hygiene. In addition, the steering board’s members inspected 244 out of 776 food business facilities, winning 87%.
Obviously, food safety and hygiene has been paid much attention by functional agencies. Doctor Yen said that on these days the center’s cadres were assigned to inspect food safety and hygiene at eateries.
According to the steering board’s members, inspection work on food safety and hygiene will be strengthened during the Ram Thang Gieng holiday 2015.
