On display at Vietwater 2011 are the latest advanced technologies from many countries including the Netherlands, France and Belgium.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Cao Lai Quang noted that apart from encouraging results in the field of water supply and sewerage, Vietnam has to face major challenges. For example, he said factories and enterprises often discharge waste water directly to the environment while streets in HCM City and Hanoi are regularly submerged by heavy rains.
In the context, Vietnam is committed to creating favourable conditions for businesses to conduct research on water supply and drainage to protect the environment and give priority to those applying green and energy saving technologies, said Quang.
The three-day exhibition was co-organised by the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) and United Business Media (UBM).
