Early Mar.7, Dau Tieng district’s Women’s Union grandly held a get-together to mark the 106th anniversary of International Women’s Day (Mar.3) and the 1,976th anniversary of Trung sisters’ Uprising.
At the get-together, the local Women’s Union reviewed the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women and their great achievements during the two struggles against foreign invaders for national freedom, independence as well as in the cause of socialist construction while honoring Vietnamese women’s fine virtues that are worthy of the eight golden words of “heroism, undauntedness, loyalty and responsibilities” presented by Uncle Ho.
*In Di An town, after reviewing the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women over periods, the meaning of International Women’s Day and Trung sisters’Upprising, Nguyen Hong Gam, Chairwoman of the town’s Women’s Union ratified a report on the result of the five-year implementation of the “Women helping each other in economic development” movement and the Saving Day for Poor Women between 2010-2015. On this occasion, the town’s Women’s Union also awarded mementoes to 20 individuals who actively supported poor women.
*At the get-together held on Mar.7, sisters in Tan Uyen town’s Women’s Union were heard a speech on “Vietnamese women’s virtues in the intensified period of national industrialization and modernization” delivered by Vu Gia Hien, lecturer of the Psychology Faculty under HCM city’s University of Pedagogy, thereby emphasizing women’s role and tasks in the new period.
On this occasion, the town’s Women’s Union also presented 14 gifts to outstanding officials during the past time.
*At the get-together marking International Women’s Day in Thuan An town, after reviewing the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women over periods, delegates had a chance to take part in a talk show on women’s role in building up happy families and well bringing up children by Luu Thi Ngan, former lecturer of the Vietnam Women's Research & Education Institute’s HCM city branch.
Leaders of the town also congratulated, presented bouquets to members of the local Women’s Union.
