Much expectation
The rescue delegation led by Binh Duong provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Becamex IDC coming to the flooding-hit victims in the central provinces included 26 members. Most of them are cadres, employees of Becamex IDC. For them, being represented to join in the rescue trip is a holy mission.
After a day of paying visits to Binh Dinh province-based families of victims who were perished in the flood, the delegation members started their main job of presenting gifts to families of victims in Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai provinces. Thanks to assistance of localities, the delegation’s gifts came timely to people suffering the heaviest losses in the past flood.
At Binh Tuong commune, Tay Son district, Binh Dinh province, we met many old people and women in mud-sticked clothes, waiting for the rescue delegation from early morning. The old man Nguyen Xuan Vien, 75, said “The past flood appeared suddenly, sweeping away all our foodstuff, then hearing about the rescue delegation we are very happy”. Meanwhile, Tran Thien in Tinh Bac village, Son Tinh district, Quang Ngai province said “Within 3 days after the flooding we did not have food to eat but instant noodle packs. Hearing about the rescue delegation, we are very happy and try to overcome more than 12km to arrive at the rescue location. Food and foodstuff are very precious things for us”.
Expectation and hope were things that we witnessed during the rescue trips. Tired faces and gaunt eyes became brighter after gifts were granted. They unconcealed joy after receiving gifts from Binh Duong people.
Significant gifts
After receiving gift packages from Binh Duong provincial rescue delegation, Nguyen Thi Qua in Phuoc Quang commune, Tuy Phuoc district, said in tears “In the past days, I and my grandchildren had to eat vegetables instead of rice, today with these gifts of cooking oil, sugar, rice and instant noodle packs and especially money we are very happy. VND200,000 is a big amount of money. I will spend the amount of money in case of sickness”.
Enjoying the joy with Mrs. Qua were more than 3,000 other cases in Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai provinces. All of them were granted useful gift packages from Binh Duong provincial rescue delegation.
Bui Van Chien, vice general director of Becamex IDC, revealed “The amount of money for the rescue trips was funded by cadres and employees of the Becamex IDC. We feel very happy when the amount of money is for people in need”.
On Nov. 25, Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee chairman Le Huu Loc said “In the past flooding, Binh Dinh’s loss was at more than VND1,500bil. Binh Duong administration and people had timely rescue trips to us. It is hoped that the two provinces will team up with together in the coming time to developing and improving people’s life”.
More than 3,000 gift packages brought joy for many flooding-hit families. Then, consequence of the flooding will be faded and revival will come back. All are stemed from love of living and even gifts of significant rescue trips.
On Nov. 28, Binh Duong provincial rescue delegation granted VND500mil and gift packages to people in Quang Nam province’s 5 districts of Dien Ban, Tien Phuoc, Nui Thanh, Hiep Duc and Dai Loc. Accordingly, 500 gifts, each consisting of VND200,000 in cash, 10kg of rice, 1 box of instant noodle, cooking oil, fish sauce, sugar and so on were granted directly to the flooding-hit victims.
In the past flood, Quang Nam was one of localities suffering the heaviest losses with 5 people killed and 1 lost, 77.528 homes flooded, 4 houses collapsed and many more.
