“Join hands for administrative procedure reform” sees feasible initiatives

Heaps of solutions and initiatives of the contest “Join hands for administrative procedure reform” are accessed to be highly feasible and shall soon be realized in practice .

This was addressed by Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Nguyen Xuan Phuc in a recent award ceremony in Hanoi.

“The contest is an efficient, practical approach enabling the implementation and realization of the Party’s policies, the Government’s resolutions and the Prime Minister’s guidances on administrative procedures reform”, stressed Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The contest, co-organised by the by the Government Office and the Advisory Council for Administrative Procedure Reform, received more than 31,000 entries from individual and collective contestants from organizations, businesses and ministries, agencies, provinces nationwide. The contestants have discovered problems of existing regulations on APs and proposed specific reform solutions for unreasonable, illegal, unnecessary APs that impose high compliance costs on citizens and businesses.

Apart from businesses and citizens, many central and local ministries, agencies, agencies have also actively supported the contest and mobilized all of their staff to join, notably: Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Public Security, General Department of Taxation, General Department of Vietnam Customs, Haiphong City, Thua-Thien Hue, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh and Bac Lieu provinces.

Mr. Ngo Hai Phan, Director of Administrative Procedures Control Agency under the Government Office and Head of the organization board, said: “With a deep meaning, the contest has mobilized the whole society to join hands for feasible initiatives, ideas to apply in practical task settlement at state administrative agencies and to reduce burdens, AP compliance costs for citizens and businesses”.

“The unsuccessful contestants did provide us with new ideas for the process of study and assessment of the existing APs. This will be a collective valuable archive for APCA that brings a broader perspective of APs, from the angle of those affected by APs in particular”.

At the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc re-affirmed the Government’s strong commitment to building a professional, efficient, effective, investment and growth-pro public administration system. He also called for continued active and strong participation from all walks of life and business community in the government AP reform to sustain and build on recent reform successes.

The “Join hands for administrative procedures reform” contest is intended to seek practical reform measures to help reduce the AP compliance burdens and costs for individuals, organizations and have been widely communicated across the country from December 2011 to October 2012.

The contest is expected to be launched on a periodical basis with a thematic focus closed linked to the government’s priority key reforms to best engage all social available resources to achieve AP reform goals and help the government fulfill its reform determination./.
