Join hands to protect and take care of children for their comprehensive development

Over the years, the protection and care of children has been paid much attention to and invested by the CPV, State and society in all aspects. Many policies and programs have been issued, showing the CPV and State's interest in realizing children's rights to health care, nutrition, intellectual and spiritual development and protection. By the spirit of "children today – the world tomorrow", Binh Duong has well mobilized social resources to take care of children to help them develop comprehensively.

Under the theme of "Altogether protect children, speak up to prevent abuse and violence against children", Action Month for Children in 2022 aims to ensure a safe and healthy environment for children to live in and develop comprehensively by fully realizing children's rights, especially protecting them in the current COVID-19 epidemic situation. The action month also aims to mobilize the whole society to offer children of special circumstances, poor children, and ethnic minority children to voice their voices on issues related to them while listening, considering and responding to children's opinions at children's forums at all levels on the implementation of children's rights and Law on Children 2016.

The main content of the launching ceremony is associated with the theme and slogans of Action Month for Children to call on all levels of Party committees, authorities at all levels, departments, agencies, unions, and parents to commit to create equal development opportunities for children and to minimize the situation of children being violently exploited and abused, especially sexual abuse, children drowning death, and traffic accidents, contributing to the full realization of children's rights as prescribed by law.

In the past time, the province has mobilized and called on organizations and individuals to donate resources to the Children's Protection Fund at all levels to build welfare works for children such as children's playgrounds, giving gifts and scholarships to poor children, ethnic minority children and children in special circumstances, supporting heart surgery for children with disabilities etc. At the same time, the province organizes a communication campaign to increase awareness and skills of children, families and communities about joining hands to protect them, to notify and denounce acts of abuse and violence against children and child labor.

Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that through activities were to strengthen the responsibilities of branches and levels and the coordination between the Departments of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Culture, Sports and Tourism, the provincial Youth Union, the provincial Women's Union and relevant agencies and organizations in the locality on implementing preventive, supportive and intervention measures to protect children timely and most effectively. Thereby, agencies, units and localities strengthen advocacy and socialization activities to support, encourage and create opportunities for children with special circumstances, poor and ethnic minority children to be literacy and accessible to social services to fully enjoy basic rights and essential needs of children, contributing to the training and fostering preschools future for the nation.

Jubilant day for children

On the occasion of International Children's Day of June 1, all over the province has been organizing the launching ceremony of Action Month for Children and Children's Day. The programs have been carefully prepared and organized to bring up a lot of joy to thousands of children; thereby, showing the concern of the Party and State, and calling for the attention and assistance of the whole society to disadvantaged children, and creating favorable conditions for children with difficult circumstances, children with disabilities, orphans without help, children with visual impairments, and homeless children to celebrate Children's Day.

Taking place in a joyful and vibrant atmosphere, the launching ceremony of Action Month for Children in Bau Bang district attracted the enthusiastic response of district leaders, departments, unions, agencies, and a large number of people. After the launching ceremony, the district organized a parade through the communes and towns to propagate widely among the people. Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong, Deputy Chairman of Bau Bang District People's Committee, said that in addition to the launching ceremony, the district has also organized a communication campaign to promote awareness change and mobilize the participation of the whole society for the prevention and reduction of children participating in labor, children at risk and children having to work in contravention of the laws.

Meanwhile, Mr. Do Ngoc Loi, Secretary of the Bac Tan Uyen District Union, said that during the opening ceremony of the summer on June 5, the district will give 15 gifts worth VND 500,000 each, and an amusement park worth VND 20 million and held a screening of drowning propaganda films and the program of "Cinematic views in the eyes of children" at units and schools in the area. Participating in the program, students are not only equipped with more knowledge about disease prevention and control, but also have the opportunity to receive attractive gifts from the organizers.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Trieu, Standing Deputy Chairman of the Sponsoring Council, Director of the provincial Children's Fund, said that the launching ceremony of Action Month for Children and Children's Day in Binh Duong province in 2022 will take place in Bac Tan Uyen district in the morning of June 1. It is expected that the program will give 1,050 gifts to 950 children directly attending the festival and 100 children at the provincial Association of the Blind.
