Every Tuesday morning members of the “Sharing love” group gather together at Ngoc Da coffee shop in Phu Loi ward, Thu Dau Mot city to discuss their charity activities. Some of them are small traders, housewives, teachers, public servants and even students…
Truong Van Minh working at Nhat Minh music band in Lai Thieu ward, Thuan An town, the group new member, said “Through the former members, I know about the sharing love group and realize that the group’s charity activities are very significant, so I register to join in it”.
Nguyen Thanh Tuan, the group head, said “Earlier, the group members’ subscription was for the unlucky publicized on the HCMC Public Security Newspaper. Recently, we decide to give priorities for needy people in the province. We contact to Binh Duong Television and Radio Station to pay gift visits to people in need”.
On average, the group collects about VND2.5mil from subscription per week. Depending on conditions of every member, they can subscribe from VND100,000 to 200,000 or from VND20,000 to 30,000. The subscription is based on volunteer and capacity of members.
Until now, the group members have paid more than 120 gift visits to the unlucky. Nguyen Thanh Tuan, said “Since its inception in 2011, the group has so far lured over 60 members from 10 in the first period. Earlier, I often read charity columns on newspapers and watched charity programs on television to earmark about VND200,000/week to the unlucky. Afterwards, I mobilize more friends and people to join with me. Therefore, the “sharing love” group has been born”.
Tuan is the owner of Phong Phu pepper salt workshop in quarter 3, Phu Loi ward, Thu Dau Mot city. Earlier, he joined in the group as the group founder. Realizing the good deeds, he bravely mobilizes more relatives to join in the group. Until now, aside from Tuan, his 3 brothers, brother-in-law and mother also join in the group.
His mother, Tran Thi Tang, revealed that she has 8 children and a difficult life in the past, so she understands difficult circumstances in life and desires to share with the unlucky. Every day she saves money to help people in need. She feels happy to join in this group and mobilizes more people to join in it. Meanwhile, his father often joins in the group’s meetings and offers useful advices for the group’s activities.
Now, Nguyen Thanh Tuan has more trust in bringing joy to poor people because he knows that his relatives and friends always stand by him.
