Joining hands for the blind’s happiness

Witnessing visually impaired people hold a congress for the visually impaired people, every one will admire their ability. Dao Soat, chairman of the Vietnam Blind Association said “We hope that everyone joins hands to help the visually impaired people. Accordingly, they will feel warm to overcome obstacles for the sake of community integration”.

People overcoming obstacles

Attending the congress, participants held hands together to enter the hall. Huynh Thi Khuyen showed her ability through reading a report by Braille fluently.

Typical visually impaired people are honored.

The congress really became warmer when Ha Thi Thuy Trang, 17 in Thu Dau Mot town’s Tan An commune told her story. “My childhood suffered much bad luck. I was blind right from birth. My parents spent much time and money to treat for me but they failed. Three years later, my younger sister also suffered blindness like me. We have grown up amid love of family and everyone. My mother’s sorrow seems to decrease when she sees our healthiness and assistance of the town blind society and teachers for us”. Therefore, Trang and her younger sister can study with other ordinary students and become good students of Phu Hoa junior secondary school.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Van Hai, 27 in Dau Tieng district’s An Lap commune is a typical example in labor. He has worked at a message workshop with an income of VND2.2mil per month. Thanks to thrift, he has just purchased a 58sqm house worth VND275mil in Thu Dau Mot town.

Joining hands to help the blind

At the special congress, charity was multiplied when nearly 20 units and individuals donated money and gifts to the provincial Blind Society. Dang Thi Thu Phuong, a Braille teacher at the provincial Blind Society, said “The visually impaired people face numerous obstacles in their life, only charity can help them overcome difficulties and integrate into the community”.

Pham Van Canh, head of the provincial Mass Mobilization Committee said “we should continue offering conditions to help the blind and pay much attention to the blind’s happiness”.
