In response to the movement of “Youths joining hands in new rural construction”, youths in Tru Van Tho commune have made a lot of practical contributions, contributing to carrying out criteria of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, promoting the local socio-economic development.

Tru Van Tho commune is now home to 262 Youth Union members. The local Youth Union has brought the content of new rural construction into its yearly programs; sped up dissemination of information about the goal and significance of new rural construction. It has also strengthened youth volunteer squads on propaganda of traffic safety, new rural construction and many other activities with 24 members.
Under the movement of “Youths joining hands in new rural construction”, the local youths last year launched the “Green Sunday” campaign with such significant activities as upgrading 900 meters of rural roads; planting and tending 200 green trees; offering help to 4 bad youths; organizing 10 shows on propaganda of environmental protection activities; making environmental protection on main streets, contributing to keeping a green-clean and beautiful environment…
The local Youth Union has so far mobilized Youth Union members to economize wedding party costs; maintain activities of the “Voluntary Saturday” and “Green Sunday” campaigns, not to drop litter disorderly, guide households to use clean water and take measures against diseases. Besides, the local Youth Union has provided youngsters with knowledge of the law, love-marriage-family, social evils and how to prevent them; maintained groups propagandizing revolutionary songs, pre-marriage clubs…, contributing to raising their spiritual lives.
Many effective models have also been implemented under the movement of “Youths joining hands in new rural construction”. The local Youth Union has coordinated with units to support youngsters to promote production and business models, contributing to the local rural development. For example, Tran Minh Tan residing in hamlet 3 has successfully developed a model of planting guavas with the origin of Taiwan with the annual income of nearly VND200mln. Or, other youth Le Ba Nhan also residing in hamlet 3 has earned more than VND100mln per year from a model of trading in fruit varieties.
The local Youth Union has also teamed up with relevant agencies to assist youngsters, including those who have amended, to get loans for economic development, attend vocational training classes…
With such practical activities plus the attention and help of the local authorities at all levels, Youth Union members of Tru Van Tho commune have upheld their volunteer role, effectively contributing to the local new rural construction program. The commune has so far met 11 out of 19 criteria of the new rural construction program. And this success also came from great contributions by the local youths.
