Along with giving support for disadvantaged people in residential quarters, the province has instructed relevant agencies to give good care for those who live at social support centers. The whole province now has a total of 11 social support facilities with 908 people being cared.

It is known that the province spends hundreds of billions of dong on providing disadvantaged people with monthly allowances; visiting and presenting gifts to them every year. In 2016 alone, the province provided 28,089 disadvantaged people with around VND114billion; granted health insurance cards to disadvantaged people with a total expense of more than VND16billion; presented 2,420 gifts worth VND935million to the disabled; provided needy cases with unexpected aid of VND4.4billion…
Along with the sector of labor, war invalids and social affairs, many other sectors have also joined hands to give care for disadvantaged people. Provincial Department of Culture-Tourism and Sports is a typical example for this. In 2016, the department kicked off a cultural-sports festival for disabled people with the participation of 305 athletes. Provincial Department of Health also made a list of children with harelip and cleft palate and sent it to HCM city Odonto-Maxillo-Facial Hospital for free surgeries; coordinated with HCM city Orthopedics & Rehabilitation Center to provide free medical check-ups for 345 disabled people with difficult circumstances across the province.
Last year, provincial Sponsoring Association for Disabled People, Orphans and Poor Patients built and upgraded 22 houses of compassion with a total expense of VND1.2billion; awarded 1,255 scholarships worth VND1.5billion and 211 bicycles to orphan children and those with extremely difficult circumstances; teamed up with relevant agencies to mobilize organizations and individuals to donate gifts to 18,754 disabled people, orphans and poor patients; provided cataract surgeries for 157 blind people with a total expense of VND230million; carried out livelihood support for disabled and poor households.
Ha Minh Trung, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (DoLISA) said that provincial DoLISA will work with sectors, departments and mass organizations to deploy loan support programs for disadvantaged people and their families, helping them develop homebased business and stabilize their lives. For the disabled, they will continue being supported for vocational learning to have a stable life. Provincial Social Support Center will also further receive and take care of cases without working strength…
