At the closing ceremony of the school year of 2013-2014, all schools in the province spent gifts to underprivileged talented pupils. These gifts included notebooks, textbooks, school bags and so on. This is a great encouragement for needy children and their study becomes more advantaged.
On the occasion of the International Children’s Day (June 1), society again joins hands to take care of underprivileged children. On every June 1, Binh Duong bookstore grants 100 gifts to underprivileged talented pupils in Thu Dau Mot city. This is a traditional activity of this bookstore. Van Nguyet Anh, chairwoman of Phu Cuong ward People’s Committee said that the society has over the past years joined forces with mass bodies to take care of local poor children. This good deed contributes to help them continue their study.
Over the past days, every locality earmarked budget and held gift visits to children in difficult circumstances. Specifically, Thuan An town authority donated 550 gifts worth more than VND100mil, Thu Dau Mot city granted 599 gifts to poor kids, visually-impaired people’s children and offered 7,200 gifts to kids of public pre-schools. Meanwhile, children in difficult circumstances enjoyed a more special attention from the society.
On the occasion of June 1, orphans, disabled children at the social support centers felt happier because of attention and encouragement of local leaders and mass bodies. These gifts helped them overcome difficult circumstances to integrate into community.
Activities of taking care of children in difficult circumstances are focused constantly. The Supportive Fund for Children at all levels is a familiar address for children nationwide. On every new school year, the Fund presents thousands of scholarships to underprivileged talented pupils.
A very significant program held by the provincial supportive fund for children in many the past years is the very program of heart surgery for poor children. From the program, many small hearts are maintained their beats. Tran Minh Hoang, the pupil of Binh An secondary school in Di An town enjoyed a free heart surgery worth VND60mil and now he can pursue his learning dream.
Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, director of the provincial Supportive Fund for Children said that in the first half of this year the fund works with sponsors to conduct heart surgeries for 11 needy children with the total cost of more than VND535mil. In this year, the fund leaders will build the program of “Every kind heart lights up a dream”. Realizing the program’s significance, Binh Duong Lottery Company sponsors VND1.5mil per month for Nguyen Thanh Hai, pupil of Nguyen Viet Xuan secondary school in Thu Dau Mot city. In addition, the Fund assists unexpectedly for 13 difficult cases with the total cost of VND146mil.
In the Month for Children of this year, aside from paying gift visits to kids on the occasion of International Children’s Day, the provincial department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs will hold activities of culture, sport and entertainment for children; take children in especially difficult circumstances to exchanges and excursions at Lam Dong province.
