Despite
difficulties in 2012, sectors, enterprises and proprietors in Binh Duong have paid
more attention to taking care of laborers’ livelihood on the occasion of the
upcoming Tet holiday by many forms, including presenting Tet gifts, organizing
year-end parties…, bringing them a warm and significant Tet.

Tet gifts for workers
With the motto of “Manpower is the most precious asset”, Phan Thanh Co.Ltd. in Tan Uyen has always paid attention to laborers’ livelihood. In 2012, the company managed to overcome difficulties, creating stable jobs for nearly 100 laborers. The company also fulfilled its Tet bonus plan for laborers on Dec.2012.
Provincial Labor Union’s Standing Committee has also suggested localities to grant State budget for presenting Tet gifts to laborers who cannot return home for Tet. Particularly, 3,120 Tet gifts worth VND500,000 each from provincial State budget will be given for alien laborers with extremely difficult circumstances. The Labor Unions of districts, towns and city have also reached unanimity with the divisions of labor, war invalids and social affairs about asking for district/town/city-level State budget to present 5,550 Tet gifts to needy laborers on the upcoming Tet holiday.
As of Dec.26, 2012, 367 enterprises in Binh Duong province reported their Tet bonus plans, according to the local Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. Based on these reports, the highest Tet bonus offered so far among foreign- invested enterprises is VND208mln. Enterprises will pay Tet bonuses for their laborers from Jan.10 to Feb.6, 2013.
Giving workers free trips home for Tet
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee has just coordinated with Thanh Nien Daily and Kinh Do Corporation to provide needy young workers with 250 coach tickets to go home for Tet under the program named “Kinh Do brings Tet to home”. This is seen as a special spring gift for workers after one-working year.
Provincial Labor Union will also continue giving a number of trade union cadres and members free trips home for Tet. This activity contributes to taking care of laborers on the occasion of the upcoming Tet holiday.
Apartedly, trade union locals have been ordered to organize activities in “celebration of Party and Spring” for laborers under a safe, jubilant and thrift spirit, contributing to taking care of their spiritual and material lives on the upcoming Tet holiday. Employers have also been required to soon announce their plans on days offs from work for Tet and Tet bonuses to laborers. They also need to coordinate with relevant agencies to create favorable conditions for laborers to return home for Tet…
It is known that Binh Duong province always create favorable conditions for laborers to welcome a warm and happy Tet. This year, with the attention of the local authorities at all levels and enterprises, laborers will enjoy a warm and happy Tet.
