Joining the fishermen to protect the national sea

To promote the propaganda for “sentimental attachment to people in nation border, island, and sea regions”, Binh Duong Provincial Youth’s League held a program for its members to heading toward those regions to share and send their supporting sentiment those fishermen on day and night duties of protecting the national sea. Phu Quy District of Binh Thuan Province has 3 communes of Long Hai, Tam Thanh, and Ngu Phung where local people rely on the sea. Perhaps, never before have them been enjoying time with volunteers from Binh Duong Province on a visit. The visitors present them with humble gifts of medicine boxes and medical equipment for long-day sea fishing. Mr. Ngo Van Chuc, a local fisherman said: “My four sons are working at the sea, they even have been out there for a month. Your gifts are very encouraging to us in making ends meet and in protecting the sacred sovereignty of the nation.” Aside from gifts, the volunteers also visit homes of the fishermen to encourage them. At the home of Mr. Nguyen Minh Thy residing at Quy Hai Village, Long Hai Commune, we listened to his long-day sea trips occasionally near Sinh Ton Island. On the trip to Phu Quy Island, Ms. Vu Thi Phuong of Youth Grassroots of Provincial Youth’s League under Foster Vietnam Electronics Co. Ltd. said: “I am proud to be a representative of Binh Duong Provincial youths to be heare to know more about life of local people sacrificing their life to protect the nation.” Phuong added that many other members contributed to the program although they were not available for the trips. Her company also called upon employees to donate one working day each to support the forces protecting regions of Spratly and Paracel Islands. Mr. Pham Hong Thang, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Youth’s League and Chair of Association of Youths said: “The trip help our members to move step forward in expressing patriotism. The gifts are to encourage local people with their career and promotion of nation defense at sea.” Within the trip, Binh Duong Provincial youths brought over 100 gift packages, 1.7 tons of detergents and free medicine as well as gift to poor children on the island.
