Joy brought to socially-privileged families

“Uong nuoc nho nguon” (when drinking the water, remember its source) is the long lasting ethics of our people.

“Uong nuoc nho nguon” (when drinking the water, remember its source) is the long lasting ethics of our people. Promoting such tradition, Binh Duong Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has presented interior equipment to socially-privileged families in the province. The gifts are to ease the loss and pains of those who have greatly contributed to the nation for freedom.

Being with the visiting team was to feel the sentiment and the care of the Party and local authority for the people. At each visiting place, sentimental words were given together with interior equipment dedicated to the socially-privileged families.

Receiving the equipment, Mr. Nguyen Van Quoc, a veteran residing at Quarter 1 of My Phuoc Ward in Ben Cat Town, was so glad as saying: “I am so happy to be presented with interior equipment. This is meaningful and practical for use to settle down.” Quoc joined the army in 1971 at C61 of Ben Cat District army. In 1974, he was hit by mines and lost his left leg. In peacetime, the injuries lost him his right arms and right eye. He has been so determined to get through the hardest situations.

We visited family of Mr. Mai Van Dung, a veteran residing at Quarter 5 of My Phuoc Ward. In the house of laughter, we were greeted by the neighbors who kept commenting on the received equipment. Aside from the received interior equipment, Mr. Mai Van Dung was presented with a charity house.

“Your care makes me feel better and determined to live a life of worthiness and modeling for the children and grandchildren to follow. I keep educating them of devotion local endeavor,” said Dung.

Aside from the donation of home interior equipment, the provincial fatherland front committee also called upon enterprises and organizations to contribute into “fund of gratitude” under the management of Binh Duong Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs whereby visits are made to support the socially-privileged families.

From 1997 to 2013, Binh Duong Province has gathered contribution of over VND 25 billion to fund the gratitude drive and charity house construction.

Thanks to the timely care and support, socially-privileged families have emerged from difficulties.

Mr. Tu Xuan Son, Deputy Chair of Binh Duong Provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that the socially-privileged families have not so dependent on the committee support. Contrarily, they have made ends meet by themselves.

So as to enrich the gratitude activities, Binh Duong Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has called upon organizations, individuals, and enterprises to contribute into gratitude funding to bring up joy and happiness to nation contributors.
