The 4th National Festival for Good Workers hosted by Binh Duong province’s Youth Union officially took place at provincial Convention and Exhibition Center. Attending the event were Truong Hoa Binh, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC), President of the Supreme People's Court; Dang Ngoc Tung, Member of the PCC, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Nguyen Dac Vinh, First Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee; leaders of provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee, sectors, mass organizations, enterprises and Youth Union members.

Fifty-five good laborers honored
Fifty-five outstanding laborers were honored at the festival. Among them, there were two from Binh Duong, including Nguyen Xuan Thanh of Hoi Nghia rubber plantation under Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Company and Nguyen Thanh Toan of Forster Vietnam Electronics Co.Ltd.
Also at the festival, the Youth Union Central Committee donated 10 houses of compassion worth VND350mln to young workers with difficult circumstances; presented 20 bags and 22 medicine chests to Binh Duong’s sub-unions for young workers. This is seen as a great encouragement for young workers who now live and work in the province, helping them secure a stable life.
Mr.Binh praised all the good laborers and acknowledged their achievements in work while suggesting ministries, sectors and localities to further boost training for laborers, especially young ones, contributing to raising labor productivity and helping the country deal with the lack of highly skilled laborers. He also required to relevant agencies to regularly organize activities honoring those who have made contributions to a task of giving vocational training in all aspects for young workers …
For good laborers who were honored, according to Mr.Binh, they must continue trying to make contributions to their units, contributing to the national industrialization and modernization process while actively studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals to be able to become “both red and expert” in accordance with his teaching. He also asked for the Youth Union Central Committee to promote practical movements in order to have more youth volunteers in socio-economic development and national defence, more good laborers in all aspects, contributing to building up a qualified workforce…
Joining hands for social welfare
Prior to that, the 6th National Festival for Good Laborers was started on the afternoon of May 22 by visiting and presenting gifts to orphans and those with difficult circumstances at provincial Social Support Center.
The delegation presented gifts worth VND12mln, comprising of milk and confectionary, to children at the center. Established in April 2011, the center is now home to 312 disadvantaged people, including orphans, lonely elderly people…
On the morning of May 23, leaders of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and provincial Youth Union together with national good laborers took part in a ceremony offering incense at Phu Loi Prison Relic Site in TDM city. The delegation also visited production lines of several companies at Ben Cat town-based My Phuoc 3 Industrial Park and got involved in activities taking care of young workers.
At Kraft Vina Paper Co.Ltd., the delegation had a chance to exchange with leaders of the company and learn about its production lines. Established in 2009, the company is specialized in making various packaging paper products. The delegation also visited provincial Support Center for Young Laborers, provincial “Young workers following Uncle Ho’s teachings” festival…
Such these apart, Nguyen Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Youth Union Central Committee, Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of provincial Youth Union together with some delegates led a delegation to visit and present gifts to cultural lodging facilities for young workers in Thuan An town’s An Phu ward. The delegation donated 4 bookcases, 2 medicine chests, 20 sets of tables and chairs, 10 gifts to outstanding youths; presented 40 gifts to pupils at charity classes…Also, the delegation visited and presented gifts to 20 young workers with difficult circumstances at My Phuoc III Industrial Park’s Diamond Company in Ben Cat town…
