Provincial People’s Committee has just had a meeting with provincial Labor Union Standing Committee to deliberate about issues pertaining to laborers. The meeting focused on three main issues, including kindergartens in enterprises, order-security at lodging facilities and accommodations for laborers.
Model of “kindergarten in enterprise”
At the meeting, delegates paid more attention to the issue of "kindergarten in enterprise”. This is because laborers now face difficulties in seeking safe places to send their children in.
According to representative from provincial Department of Education and Training, this was an urgent issue needing to be removed to create favorable conditions for laborers to take care of their children.
The local education and training sector has so far paid more attention to socialization of education, especially for kindergarten education. The local rubber sector has excelled at developing the “model of kindergarten in enterprise”. Kindergartens in Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.Ltd. have upheld their effectiveness.
Phu Hoa social housing project in TDM city has been put into operation, contributing to providing accommodations for laborers.
Ly Hung, Deputy Head of the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Management Board said that the province should allow enterprises build kindergartens on industrial land, contributing to promoting the model of “kindergarten in enterprise”.
Whilst, Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Director of provincial Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that enterprises need to enjoy incentive policies when building kindergartens for laborers’ offspring.
Intensifying order and security at lodging facilities
Currently, the local functional agencies and laborers are very concerned about order and security at lodging facilities.
Nguyen Tam Duong, Vice-Chairman of provincial Labor Union said that the province is now home to thousands of lodging facilities. Over the past years, the local authorities paid attention to order and security at lodging facilities, but this problem was still very complicated in many places.
He also suggested that provincial People’s Committee need to instruct relevant agencies to promote the movement of “All people take park in defending national security at lodging facility”. Particularly, the model of “Self-governing group on order and security at lodging facilities” needs to be promoted in order to uphold the role of lodgers in maintaining order and security.
Mrs.Oanh said that the province has attached special importance to keeping order and security at lodging facilities. For better results, “self-governing groups”, “youth sub-unions”…need to further uphold their role in the task of maintaining order and security at lodging facilities…
Accommodations for laborers
Le Phu Cuong, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Construction said that the province has recently welcomed 10 delegations from localities that visited and learnt the province’s model of “building social houses for laborers”.
But, provincial Steering Board for Social Housing Projects will ask provincial People’s Committee’s opinion about implementation of a social inspection on the issue of accommodations for laborers so that the model of “building social houses for laborers” could get higher results.
Laborers have been most seriously affected when economy faces difficulties. Hence, seeking measures to quickly solve laborers’ difficulties is an urgent issue, contributing to taking care of their lives.
