Statistics show that the province has nearly 3,200 grassroots trade unions with over 691 union members. Nguyen Dinh Khanh, Vice Chairman of the provincial Labor Federation said that in order to mobilize laborers to join trade unions, all levels of trade unions in the province have make use ò many solutions such as direct access to laborers work, accommodation or lodging. In coordination with the higher level of the trade union, local authorities and house for rent owners, the grassroots levels have to select experienced officials in contacting laborers and call them to join the unions.
At the same time, care for union members, poor workers, and laborers affected by labor accidents are concerned at the union levels. The provincial delegation organized a program to transport 3,000 poor workers to their hometowns for Tet at the cost of over 3 billion Vietnam dongs. Trade union levels have also proposed that the People's Committee of the same levels to donate 8,700 Tet gifts at the cost of 4.3 billion Vietnam dongs to disadvantaged workers in Binh Duong to welcome Tet. The negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements continue to be strengthened. In 2017, 170 new collective labor agreements were signed. Up to now, the province has had 1,366 collective labor agreements of validity in enterprises with grassroots trade unions.
In order to better care for trade unions and workers, in 2018, provincial level union continues to innovate their content and mode of operations. Accordingly, the main task is to take care of life, the representative protection of legitimate rights and interests of trade unionists and laborers. The immediate task is to focus on labor for the people; improving the quality of labor endeavors and signing collective labor agreements to direct the grassroots trade unions to organize regular dialogues and labor conferences, to concretize the program of "welfare for union members", to step up the development of members, to set up grassroots trade unions in a new manner, to organize training programs for new trade union officials to participate in trade union activities.
Khanh added that in order to ensure the best Tet holiday, members of the trade unions, laborers and provincial labor unions have directed the trade unions in the province to focus on the best care for union members and workers in Tet. These activities must be organized in a practical and effective manner, which in turn benefits the trade unionists and laborers; thereby motivating and mobilizing the participation of enterprises and the whole society to care for trade unionists and laborers. At the same time, the union level also grasped the situation, plans for holidays, pay salaries, bonuses, annual leave, and the number of trade unionists and laborers in difficulties due to dissolving enterprises to propose to the authorities the solutions and ensure the legitimate rights and interests of trade unionists and laborers.
