On May 13, the organizing board of Lai Thieu fruit festival held a meeting to ratify plan on holding Lai Thieu fruit festival 2015 with the chair of Tran Thanh Liem, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.
This year’s the fruit festival, themed “Lai Thieu – season of appointment”, is held in Hung Dinh ward, Thuan An town. The festival will include activities such as opening ceremony, fruit and nursling fair, trade and tourism fair and among others. Of these, the fruit and nursling fair themed “Sweetness of Southern fruits” will consist of 50-60 stalls being located along to Vam Bung dike.
Meanwhile, the trade and tourism fair will gather 150 stalls of enterprises, specializing in producing consumption items. In addition, there will be music show, photo exhibition, Southern gastronomy and more.
Organization of this festival is to strengthen marketing of image of Lai Thieu orchards, contributing to spur local socio-economic development. Through this festival’s activities, local administration is to maintain beautiful image of Lai Thieu orchards, Thuan An urban ecological system, accelerate agricultural economic development in attachment to ecological tourism.
Concluding the meeting, Tran Thanh Liem asked the local department of Culture, Sport and Tourism to add contributions of departments, agencies to perfect this festival’s organizing plan. It is slated that this event will be held from June 20-25.
