Bau Bang Victory is now 47 years old; however, the people of the land are still moved by the pride of victory against the most powerful force in the world – the US Army.
The Bau Bang Victory was resounding against the First Infantry Division of US Army a.k.a The Big Red One in battle field of Southern Vietnam.

The conspiracy of clearing of the South in 18 months was totally a failure.
Lai Uyen Commune Party Committee Secretary, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tot recalled the event on November 11, 1965 when the Division organized its raid toward Chon Thanh. By 16:00 of the same day, our army stopped by region of Bau Bang and Dong So where the enemy division dispatched 2,500 infantry soldiers well-equiped and guarded by tanks and amours. However, the enemy force was in an open ground field surrounder by woods, thus our force saw it an easy task to get closer the enemy line to eliminate them.
Revisiting Bau Bang in those days, we saw a changing history of Bau Bang where the provincial People’s Committee just approved planning for upgrading Bau Bang locality.

On November 08, 2012, the local people of Bau Bang met up to agree upon naming of the new locality. The present participants agreed right away on two names of Bau Bang and Dong So which were remarkable of historical events in.
and the pride lives on. The meeting ended with the name of Dong So as central townlet of Bau Bang District.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tot recalled the time when Bau Bang was newly liberated. And people rushed into rennovate their farms and gardens once covered with bombs and bullets.
“The most joyful things to us all was that we had been ready for reforms. The local people have worked with their most efforts to turn the land of over 8,000 hectares into gold,” said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tot.
The rubber plantation of Lai Uyen is victorious through years of latex collection while the workers have been working very hard to improve capacity and quality of the rubber plantation.
Bau Bang is now open to industrial infraconstruction with 1,000 hectares of industrial land and 1,000 hectares of urban land invested as the most modern place on National Avenue No. 13 – the major transaction threshold of Dong Nam Bo Region and middle of High Land.
Investors are being attracted there, especially from Japan and South Korea. The initial success of the industrial park and urban area has renewed Bau Bang into a more promissing land.
