On Oct 19th, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a nationwide online conference on results of the quality management of agricultural supplies, food safety in 9 months, disseminated plans for peak action period of agricultural food safety from now until Lunar New Year 2016. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam chaired the conference.
According to reports, after 9 implementation months, the quality management of agricultural supplies and food safety had positive changes. In addition to bettering legal documents, instructing farmers, enterprises to apply safe production process, localities across the country conducted investigations, classified production facilities of agricultural supplies and agricultural, forest, aquatic product safety. Some provinces publicized the classification of production facilities into A, B, C on mass media. Total given administrative sanctioning decisions was 1,198 collecting a total fine of more than VND21 billion. Most violations were production of agricultural supplies of outside the list with low quality; violations of labeling, facility sanitary.
At the conference, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development launched the peak action period of agricultural food safety from now until Lunar New Year 2016.
