The annual month of learning and talent encouragement has been selected for September 2 through October 2. For the week of life-long learning from October 2 through 8, Ministry of Education and Training initiated the theme of learning to improve personality and foster self-development in 2017.

The week upholding life-long learning is to construct learning communities where students, officers, employees, and working people are well aware of the urgent need of updating, acquiring and using new knowledge in their work, production and social activities so as to improve performance, economic growth, poverty reduction, cultural development and living standards.
Responding to the week movement, all-level schools in the province have planned for learning form including banners of the week and direction of schools for their libraries to introduce electronic documents online to share and facilitate reading and self-learning among students. At Binh Thuan Elementary School in Thuan An Town, students get more to library than to playing ground as they are introduced new books in the year. Enjoying the spacious reading room, they can access the immense knowledge from books in the library. Aside from reading at the library, they also borrow books home for further reading. Do Huynh Kiem, the Deputh Head of Thuan An Town Division of Education and Training informed that in responding to the week of life-long learning, the division has directed schools to organized activities suitable for them with the call for donation from teachers and students to supplement the library.
The week encourages not only students of schooling ages but also everyone to participate into learning. Le Nhat Nam, the Deputy Director of Department of Education and Training asserted that on constructing a learning society, the community learning centers should guide local people how to use computers and electronic devices to access the internet for information servicing their daily life. The centers also launch short-term training course to help people update their knowledge, skills, and understanding of all fields in the social life and education program of soft skills for those who need them.
Learning and talent encouragement
Learning and talent encouragement to construct learning society is the major determination of the Party and the State. For the year, the ministry has coordinated with localities to universalize preschool and elementary school. The learning encouragement shall be implemented throughout the year with highlights at the occasions of school starting and school summing up. To encourage learning of students, on annual basis, schools and encouragement societies have called upon economic and social organization to donate scholarship, learning equipment to students getting out of situations to learn well. In the first 9 months of the year, the activities have been wide spreading in the province including the example of Binh Duong Import-Export Company for their 40 scholarship packages for poor students in Ben Cat Town and Bau Bang District. At the latest, Provincial Children’s Sponsorship Fund donated 340 scholarship packages, bicycles, and computers to students of harsh circumstances; 246 students have received Kocham scholarship to follow their dreams.
