Nguyen Thanh Tung, consultant of the center said that the center monthly implements more than 100 consulting cases with contents relating to laborers’ right and legitimate interests such as labor contract, wage, shift, labor safety, social, health and unemployment insurance and more. The center timely replies laborers’ queries, contributing to create harmonic labor relations in enterprises.
Nguyen Thi Gai, worker of Phu Xuan Co.Ltd. in Thu Dau Mot city enjoyed assistance from the center. Specifically, after a health check-up, a doctor asked her to stay in hospital to treat her liver disease for 8 days. With the unexpected hospital stay, she just sent a leave application to the company guard department. After leaving hospital, she was forced to quit with the reason of without application. Therefore, she asked a resettlement from the company trade union but she failed. Afterwards, she arrived at the center for helping. Herein, consultants helped her prepare papers relating to treatment. With adequate papers, she enjoyed a successful mediation between Thu Dau Mot city division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the company trade union and then she was back her job at the company.
Meanwhile, Long said that he quitted job at a company in Tan Uyen town but the company did not repay his insurance book to him, so he arrived at the center for helping, after 2 weeks with assistance of the center’s consultants, he got back his insurance book. The center is really a bridge to protect and help us, he revealed.
A reliable destination
Despite its new establishment, the center has become a reliable destination for workers. Until now, the center directly counsels for 657 people and 440 people via telephone.
In addition, the center disseminates legal knowledge for numerous workers and delivered 50 legal handbooks for laborers free of charge. In addition, the center in cooperation with relevant agencies solves strikes and go-slows successfully.
Tran Anh Dung, director of the center said that in order to meet laborers’ demand on legal consultancy, the center has 2 consultants and 4 lawyers, 25 legal consulting teams at labor unions across districts, towns, grassroot trade unions with 153 mediators. With its significant activities, the center contributes to minimize labor disputes at enterprises.
Dung added that the center is upgraded from the provincial labor union’s legal consulting office. Owing to shortage of manpower, the center can not hold mobile legal consulting trips to industrial parks and lodging houses. In the coming time, the center will arrive at localities with many laborers to offer legal knowledge for them.
In addition, the center is dire need of assistance from grassroot trade unions of enterprises, labor union of districts and towns and more to introduce its functions to laborers.
