Let’s help Ms. Lan to overcome illness

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, who is 79 years old, lives at the 8th hamlet, Vinh Phuoc quarter, Thai Hoa town, Tan Uyen district is lying on bed because of serious illness. Ms. Sang is taking care of Ms. Lan at the temple located at Vinh Phuoc quarter, Thai Hoa town Her house is next to a temple at Vinh Phuoc quarter. After the national liberation, her husband, Mr. Huynh Gam, and she were allotted taking care of the temple by the land’s owner. Over time, her husband then fell ill. Due to poverty, no children, he passed away. Ms. Lan was exhausted because of taking care of him and then was sick 2 months ago. She is suffering serious herniated disk. Daily treatment fee is about VND200,000. She has a nephew, who is also old and in difficulty. But he still attempts to help his aunt illness’s curing. However, in the long run, he cannot afford to support her anymore. Her neighbors also contributes to help Ms. Lan, for example, Ms. Le Thi Sang living at Chau Thoi quarter, Binh An ward, Di An town has taken care of Ms. Lan for a long time with no intention. Ms. Sang often visits the temple, thus she knew the misery of Ms. Lan. However, her situation is not much better than Ms. Lan. Therefore, when Ms. Lan runs out of money, she would take her home and cure her by acupuncture and medicinal herbs.Vice Chairman of Thai Hoa town People’s Committee Mr. Ho Thanh Binh commented, Ms. Lan was the poor household of the locality. Delegation, organizations often visit, give gifts to her family on big holidays. Currently, she receive a monthly allowance of VND340,000 and 10 kg of rice. Since her husband’s death, because she has fallen ill seriously and has no one to take care of her as well as her poverty, her situation is extremely miserable.
