Overcoming difficulties
Nguyen Thanh Hoa, the second-year student of the HCMC University of IT is born in a poor family in Vinh Phu ward of Thuan An town. Earlier, his parent had a stable life with a modest income. Unfortunately, his father passed away after a stroke. Now, his mother becomes a breadwinner for a 4 member family.
Despite difficult circumstance, Hoa has made greater effort to pursue his study. During two academic years, Hoa won high academic results and joined positively in the university youth union’s activities. With the done achievements, Hoa was awarded merit certificates and enjoyed “DTL-Lighting dreams of Binh Duong students” scholarship.
Lighting dreams
Over the past years, there are many excellent-but-poor students to receive the scholarships. The provincial youth union secretary Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, said “DTL-Lighting dreams of Binh Duong students” scholarship program is to share difficulties with local needy students and help inspire dreams to them. We hope that the beneficiaries will overcome difficulties to reach good academic results”.
The organizing board of “DTL-Lighting dreams of Binh Duong students” scholarship program annually holds 2 scholarship presentation ceremonies for students. Since its inception in 2010, the scholarship management board has granted 130 scholarships with the total value of VND300mil to poor local students.
Nguyen Thanh Nghia, general director of Dai Thien Loc JSC said “Our wish is to help needy students enjoy more impetus to keep pursuing their study. Though value of the scholarship is very small, it is our sharing for poor students. I hope that needy students will make efforts to overcome difficulties”.
