Life in "red zones"

In the distance, the loudspeaker from the mobile information transmission vehicle of Tan Uyen town resounded: "From August 22, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in Tan Uyen town implement "lockdown and freeze" of the wards  ofHoi Nghia, Khanh Binh, Thai Hoa, Tan Phuoc Khanh, Uyen Hung, Tan Hiep and Tan Vinh Hiep; people are absolutely not allowed to leave their homes…”. The political system and people in the "red zones" have been ready with the spirit of Covid-19 prevention and control in the new period.

Urgent engagement

After the meeting of the town's steering committee, members, divisions and unions from the town to the neighborhoods quickly embarked on the tasks in the "red zone" that took place regularly and continuously within 15 "golden days". During the period of "lockdown and freeze", the main goal is to separate F0 from the community. Each group of volunteers together with the medical force has been going to each alley to perform the Covid-19 screening tests.

In the morning at the industrial cluster in Thai Hoa ward, people lined up in two rows, one row was the "green zone", the other row was the workers in the "red zone" area seriously standing at a distance, one after another to the table to be sampled. After 20 minutes of waiting after the quick tests, the sampling teams read out the person's name as being infected by SARS-nCoV-2 to separate an area to be taken to the treatment areas. Receiving a negative result when testing for Covid-19, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang, a worker happily said: "Many workers have been infected so I am also worried. Whenever testing is made, the couple and their child go early to be tested, check their health for peace of mind and to comply with the regulations. After the tests, they returned to the motel room to continue to stay in place to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic."

Police force of Tan Hiep ward inTan Uyen town brings necessities to residents even at night

In the afternoon, the raindrops began to fall, two militiamen and the test team went "each alley" to take the samples. At the hostel in My Hiep neighborhood, the tenant and the militia mobilized everyone to take quick tests. “My hostel has workers infected by the disease who went to the quarantine ward. The rest of the people have to continue with taking samples to ensure good disease prevention and control," said Ms. Van Thi Kieu Oanh, the tenant. Meanwhile, at the office in the neighborhood, the goods trucks continuously entered with shipment every 5 minutes to the gathering place. Officers, unions, members, and neighborhood militia quickly unloaded the goods to be classified and fully divided in categories of meat, vegetables and spices into bags for immediate delivery to each household. After preparing about 50 bags, the force immediately brought them to each house by enough quantity.

At 10 p.m., the rain was still drizzling, and she was about to turn off the lights to go to bed when Nguyen Thi Ngoc, a resident of My Hiep neighborhood, heard the sound of a motorbike in front of her house and a call in the rain: "Sister Ngoc!". Turning on the lights and standing in the house looking out, Ms. Ngoc saw the militiamen carrying 3 bags of essentials in their hands. She opened the door and hurried to the door. The militiaman gave her a gift and said: "Your family of 3 will receive 3 bags. The state helps people to stay at home and not to go out and do well in disease prevention and control."  Ms. Ngoc said: “I knew about food support at home for people to prevent and control the epidemic, but I was surprised when I received supporting gifts at midnight. To provide food for all people is not easy. However, local authorities, officials, and neighborhood forces brought everything to the houses. I am very appreciative and grateful.”

In Tan Phuoc Khanh ward and into the small alley into the office of Khanh Hoi neighborhood was always lighted by trucks moving in the night. Just like that, each shipment of vegetables, chicken, pork and fish sauce, soy sauce, and spices continuously "docked". The force of officials, employees, militiamen, soldiers, members, union members and volunteers in the "red zone" urgently worked through the night to transport, carry, sort and divide each bag of necessities to be delivered to each household.

Being well cared for, relatives have been excited, even in the night, on social networks and friends and relatives send each other pictures of the essentials received. The 7 wards have been "locked and frozen" with a large population, so food distribution has also been difficult. So, on the new day, the work continued to be done, when the shipment arrived in the local area, the neighborhood finally prepared and brought all to the people to ensure it was right, enough and as fast as possible so that everyone can feel secure in their home to comply with regulations on disease prevention and control.

The warm hearts

Receiving 4 gift bags for 4 family members, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa from My Hiep quarter of Thai Hoa ward went to a poor household a few houses away from her and offered a gift bag to be placed in front of the gate for the family. Ms. Hoa said: “There are only parents and children in that house - a local poor family. Today, during the Covid-19 epidemic, the locality has also promptly supported; but on feeling sorry for the situation, I divided more necessities for parents and children." Seeing that the goods were piled up but the force was not much, Ms. Hoa living next to the neighborhood office also helped. “I got a shot of the Covid-19 vaccine, so I boldly helped everyone on  seeing that everyone is working hard and they have to provide so many houses," said Hoa.

After bringing the gift bags to the motel rooms, Ms. Mai Cam Tu at Ong Dong neighborhood of Tan Hiep ward hastily listed workers in the mootel to receive support for the day. Ms. Tu said: “This morning, the neighborhood authority gave me a paper with the name of the workers staying at the motel for the ward staff to come and distribute the supporting money. After I finished recording, I informed the motel rooms in the afternoon to receive the money; everyone was happy."  Around 15:00, at Ms. Tu's motel, the workers went to the point of receiving money to keep their distance and line up in order to wait for their turns. Because of the large number, the money offering by the supporting forces and officials lasted to midnight.

The quiet night covered the streets as the loud loudspeakers of mobile vehicles running through the roads announced: "Workers who have not received support should contact thehotline of the ward”. Holding the money in hand, Mai Thi Le, a worker, rejoiced: “Workers living away from home have adequate food, allowances and vaccinations. It's so good to be cared for by the government; we feel very warm in our hearts for the homeland of Binh Duong! Everyone, let's join hands with the local authorities to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic for our own health and for the happiness of everyone."

The night was empty in each neighborhood as everyone in each house stayed at home;  grandparents, grandchildren, and brothers reunite over the phone using the Zalo application with happy laughter when grandparents saw their faces and got greetings to friends when they haven't seen each other for many days. People asked questions to remind each other to stay healthy and stay in place to prevent and fight Covid-19 epidemic so that Tan Uyen Town in particular and Binh Duong in general would be back to healthy life soon.
