Training at demand
The whole province is now home to 8 universities, 1 college and 9 junior colleges with more than 45,700 students. Most of them have promoted cooperation with enterprises in training. This has helped students enjoy favorable conditions to practice and take jobs after graduation.
For higher training quality, Thu Dau Mot University has linked with Becamex UDJ, Minh Long Co.Ltd., Tan Hiep Phat Group. Dong Nam Junior College for Economics has also signed agreements with Kumhoo Co. and KingJim Co.Ltd. on training and supplying laborers in many different industries…
According to Hoang Trong Quyen, Vice-Principal of Thu Dau Mot University, training cooperation between the school and enterprises is very important, so it helps students and lectures get access to real situations. This will help the school further perfect its training program in line with real demands for better training quality, creating employment opportunities for students. Over the past time, most students herein got jobs after graduation.
Tran Thanh Vu, Vice-Principal of Binh Duong College for Economics and Technology also said: “Schools must improve their training quality in association with the development of labor market, which is seen as the first action to boost cooperation between them and enterprises. When having cooperation with enterprises, schools will sufficiently grasp information about labor market, thereby improving their training programs at real demand…”.
Hi-quality workforce for enterprises
The whole province is now home to 28 industrial parks (IPs). As of September 2014, the number of laborers working for enterprises at province-based IPs reached 235,000, 7.7% of whom fulfilled education at university-college level, 8.8% with education at junior college level and the remainder, including unskilled laborers. Province-based IPs generates jobs for around 10,000 laborers annually.
In recent years, enterprises have also joined hands with schools to organize job festive days for students at the graduation ceremonies. This is a chance for enterprises to be able to sort out qualified candidates at their requirements and students can seek jobs suitable to their ability.
To Huynh Tu My, Deputy Head of Liwayway Food Industry Co.Ltd., the province needs to support and cooperate with schools to be able to train and supply hi-quality human resources at enterprises’ requirements…, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development.
Meanwhile, Bui Minh Tri, Deputy Head of provincial IPs Management Board said: “Training cooperation between schools and enterprises is the win-win relationship. Schools step by step get access to enterprises for comprehensive cooperation. Whilst, enterprises will have hi-quality human resources at their requirements. They have also spoke highly of the effectiveness of training cooperation between them and schools”.
According to provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Van Nam, relevant agencies need to further create opportunities for schools and enterprises to be closer via seminars, conferences, job transaction sessions…This will help enhance the prestige of schools in enterprises and society. Enterprises can also save time and money in recruiting hi-quality human resources at their requirements…
