On the occasion of the upcoming Tet holiday 2013, the provincial Fatherland Front Committee will grant 1,196 gifts to poor people across the province with the total value of over VND350mil. This money was mobilized from donors inside and outside the province.
In the morning of Jan. 30, Phuoc Hung Temple in Tan An commune, Thu Dau Mot city in cooperation with artist Phuong Trinh in Tan Dinh commune, Ben Cat district held a gift visit to orphans at Bo De Dao Trang Center for Orphans. Herein, the delegation granted new clothes, confectionery, milk, instant noodle to the orphans.
Earlier, the delegation paid gift visits to the provincial Social Sponsor Center and Center for Lonely Old People to donate hundreds of gift packages to the unlucky. These gift visits were worth of nearly VND15mil funded by Buddhist believers.
Also the same day, Ben Cat district division of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs held gift visits to alien poor workers. Accordingly, the delegation offered 400 gifts each worth VND500,000 to alien needy workers living in districts of An Dien, Lai Hung, An Tay, Phu An, Chanh Phu Hoa, My Phuoc, Tan Dinh.
According to Phan Duc Tin, vice head of the division, the district is home to over 50,000 workers, about 6,000 of whom have registered to stay for Tet. Therefore, the division cooperated with mass bodies and functional agencies to bring a warm Tet holiday to them.
