During the Tet this year, the total amount of waste generated in the province will increase by 30% compared to the previous year, according to Nguyen Van Tri, Director of Binh Duong’s Urban Works Company.
Especially, the amount of waste discharged from Dec.28 to Jan.3 of the Lunar Calendar will see a twofold increased compared to the normal days. But with the effort of 150 sanitation workers from Binh Duong’s Urban Works Company, streets during Tet this year will be always clean and nice because of no waste.
To achieve the target, Binh Duong’s Urban Works Company has taken initiative in making a concrete plan for collecting and transporting waste on the days near Tet, especially before and during the Lunar New Year’s Eve.
Hoang Thi Xuan Lanh, a staff of the company, said that the company’s sanitation workers will intensify to sweet and collect waste discharged at TDM market from 22pm to 4 am on Dec.28 and 29 of the Lunar Calendar. To realize this, the company will invest and put 16 specialized trucks into operation. They will also ensure hygiene on streets near TDM market, namely Hai Ba Trung, Ba Trieu, Hung Vuong, Van Cong Khai, Ngo Quyen, Yersin as well as small markets of Phu Hoa, Phu Van, Bung Cau, Cay Dua…
During the peak time (Dec.30 of the Lunar Calendar), the company’s sanitary workers will initially collect huge heaps of waste; regularly clean up Doan Tran Nghiep street, Bach Dang street, Nga Sau traffic-circle and other areas around TDM market…At 8 am of the Jan.1 of the Lunar Calendar, the company’s leaders will make the final check of the sanitary task on Tet this year…
