Local situation of social life before, during and after Tet is in stability

The provincial Party Committee yesterday had an early-year meeting to assess local situation of social life before, during and after Tet 2011. Accordingly, local poor people enjoy attention from the local authority whilst social life is in stability…

Reportedly, in the past Lunar New Year, the local People’s Committee earmarked VND103bil from local budget to support officials, staff and privileged people. Specifically, mass bodies paid gift visits worth more than VND50bil to privileged and poor people. Districts, towns and communes, wards and townships mobilized to grant 2,506 gifts, 83 saving books, 5 gratitude houses with the total value of nearly VND1.5bil to privileged and needy people.

Besides, the local administration earmarked VND570mil to grant 1,900 gifts to poor immigrant workers. Owing to difficulty of debt payment at Dang Chau Company in Thuan Giao ward, Thuan An town, Thuan An town People’s Committee granted 38 gifts to the company’s workers and earmarked VND174mil to pay salaries to them.

Meanwhile, all level sectors solemnly held the 81st anniversary of Vietnam Communist Party as well as ensured activities for workers during Tet. Many lodging house proprietors granted Tet gifts to needy lodgers.

Speaking at the meeting, the provincial People’s Committee chairman Le Thanh Cung stressed that with over 100,000 immigrant workers staying the province for Tet, the locality also welcomed a large number of visitors from neighboring localities.

Addressing the meeting, the provincial Party Committee secretary Mai The Trung highly valued responsibility of the whole local social-political system and business community in paying attention to laborers during Tet. All level authorities should uphold the done results and ensure order and security at festivals. The provincial secretary also stressed that all level authorities should pay attention to building and launching plans for election of the 12th National Assembly delegates and all level People’s Council delegates.
