Early Jan.20, provincial People’s Committee held a conference to review the local task ensuring traffic order-safety in 2015 and define 2016’s task in this field. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee presided over the conference.
There were 2,205 traffic accidents reported in the province last year, killing 324 people and injuring 2,479 others. Compared to 2014, the number of traffic accidents decreased by 19.4%; the number of deaths increased by 1.8% and the number of injuries were down by 26.6%. The local functional force also found out 66,796 wrong cases on traffic safety, penalized 61,820 cases with total fine of more than VND88bln; made inspection of 11,535 various vehicles, revoked 1,264 driving licenses…
Addressing the conference, Mr.Liem praised and acknowledged the efforts by the local agencies, sectors and mass organizations in ensuring traffic order and safety in 2015. He also asked for the local functional force to strength patrols and give strict punishment for violators as a warning to others while effectively making propaganda on traffic safety.
