Nguyen Thanh Liem, head of the provincial Mass Mobilization Committee grants emulation flag to Thuan An town Women Union.
On Jan. 16, the provincial Women Union held a summing up conference on woman movement and 2014 operation and ratified orientation and task for 2015. Nguyen Thanh Liem, head of the provincial Mass Mobilization Committee, Tran Thanh Liem, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee along with other delegates attended the conference.
In the past year, the union at all levels concentrated on carrying out “improvement of quality of grassroot branches and promotion of women’s potentials and building of new rural areas”. Until now, the entire province has had nearly 165,500 women joining in the union at all levels. Implementing the task of “mobilizing and supporting women to build happy and sustainable families”, the entire province has thus far established 182 clubs of educating mothers to take care of their children better”.
In addition, to help women develop homebased economy and sustainable poverty reduction, the union at all levels mobilized 9,223 rich sisters to help nearly 8,700 needy ones with the total value of about VND17.5bil. moreover, the union helped 32,000 needy sisters to enjoy preferential loans with the total value of over VND86bil.
Addressing the conference, Nguyen Thanh Liem highly appreciated achievements done by the union in the past year and stressed that the union at all levels should focus on researching, explaining breakthroughs and reconsider the set goals and measures for the sake of higher results.
On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee granted an emulation flag to Thuan An town Women Union and 5 merit certificates to 3 collectives and 5 individuals in the 2014 movements.
