Localities must report 2025 Tet bonus situation ahead of December 15

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA) has issued a document requiring localities to report the situation of the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) and New Year's Day bonuses for employees in enterprises ahead of December 15, 2024.

Accordingly, the Departments of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of provinces and cities must proactively coordinate with the Management Boards of industrial parks, economic zones, export processing zones, Labor Unions and other relevant agencies to monitor the production situation and the workers' living conditions in enterprises and implement measures to ensure jobs for workers.

Localities are required to monitor labor relations and strengthen measures to promote the establishment of harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises. They should also propagandize and raise awareness of legal compliance among workers. Additionally, localities should implement measures to prevent and minimize labor disputes and strikes that may arise before, during and after the 2025 Tet  festival and New Year's Day.

The MOLISA has requested enterprises to collaborate and exchange with trade union locals to review contracts, collective labor agreements, salary regulations and bonus regulations to implement these salary regulations for employees under agreed contents...

Furthermore, the MOLISA has asked for the Departments of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs of provinces and cities to cooperate with the Management Boards of industrial parks, economic zones and export processing zones to survey and gather information on wages, wage arrears in 2024, bonus plans based on production and business results, and labor relations in enterprises during the 2025 Tet festival and New Year's Day. Localities are required to compile data and send them to the MOLISA ahead of December 15, 2024.
