Love sharing at event of Tet for the poor

Early January 17, Provincial Red Cross organized Tet for the poor with attendance of Tran Thanh Liem, member of Central Committee of CPV, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee and Head of Provincial NA Delegation, Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, Le Huu Phuoc, member of Standing Committee, Head of Information Dissemination and Education of Provincial Party Committee, Dang Hong Nhung, the representative of Southern Vietnam Red Cross, and former leaders of the province, departments, agencies, and unions, and charitable contributors along with people of harsh circumstances, Agent Orange victims, model blood donators.

Springtime is coming

For so long, Vietnamese had been upholding the spirit of helping the disadvantaged. During Tet, such spirit is fostered by agencies, departments, and unions in charitable drives calling the communities to share with the poor and the disadvantaged in life by practical gifts.

Upholding such spirit, through many years, Provincial Red Cross has been organizing Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims to gain support of organizations, individuals, enterprises, donators, and people strata for contribution of money and materials to share with the disadvantaged people who would enjoy a warmth Tet. After initiation the program in 2018 has attracted support of majority of organizations, enterprises and individuals in and outside of the province. By January 17, the donation to the program has reached VND 15 billion, expressing the value of sharing.

Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of Provincial Red Cross said: “The live-on-air program of Tet for the poor in 2018 was organized as tribute and encouragement of charitable people who have been helping the disadvantaged enjoy warm and joyful springtime. Contribution of organizations, enterprises and individuals are tremendous as we are financed to pay visits and offer gifts to the poor helping them prepare for Tet with their families.”

At the event, organizations, enterprises and individuals of contribution to Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims were honored by Provincial People’s Committee with certificates of contribution to charitable drives in 2017.

Thanks to contribution of organizations, enterprises and individuals, various gifts, in recent days, have been sent to the poor in the province. And, during the live-on-air event of Tet for the poor 2018, over 200 people of vision impairment, disability, and Agent Orange victims in the province have been offered gifts of sharing so that they would enjoy a happy Tet.

Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee said: “For many years, along with timely and effective implementation of social welfare policies, local Party Committee, authority, people and enterprise community in Binh Duong Province have been paying attention to support the movement of Tet for the poor and Agent Orange victims by various information dissemination solutions and calling for actions of organizations to ensure the outspread of this humane event.”

Outspreading noble actions

The venue of Provincial Center for Convention and Exhibition, early January 17, was crowded with attendance to Xuan hong Festival 2018 in a bid to store up blood donation and honoring of model blood donators. The festival attracted 1,500 blood donators.

Tran Thi Hong of An Binh Labor Union in Di An Town informed that it was her fifth blood donation at the event.

“Today’s drive attracted many participants. Being here is a joy to me as I can donate my blood to help people overcome risky situations,” said Hong

As for Thich Thien Hung, an honorable senior monk of Hoi Khanh Pagoda, blood donation is similar to giving away as taught by the Buddha. Thus, along with him 200 other apprentice monks and Buddhists attended the blood donation drive.

1,500 are attracted to Xuan hong Festival 2018 – a charitable drive

Blood donation is an honorable and humane action. For years, blood donation movements in the province have been widely developed, attracting donors to help people in need. The widespread of the movement was evidenced by quantity of registered donors at Xuan hong Festival 2018. In one morning, 1,330 blood units were collected to be screened and stored for treatment and emergency for the time to come.
