Over the past time, provincial trade unions at all levels made changes both in their operational content and form for the sake of employees’ legitimate rights and interests. Protecting employees’ legitimate rights and interests was seen as one of top tasks by provincial trade unions at all levels. Hence, they organized dialogues between employers and employees so that they could opportunely grasp employees’ aspirations and petitions to be able to build up stable, harmonious and advanced labor relations. Many dialogues between employees, trade union officials and provincial leaders were also held over the past time. In the first nine months of 2014, the province saw a sharp reduction in the number of strikes compared to last year’s same period.
Regarding experience in intensifying dialogues towards building up stable and harmonious labor relations among enterprises, Nguyen Binh Yen, Chairman of Sao Viet Joint Stock Company’s trade union local at Thuan An town-based Dong An Industrial Park said that the company’s trade union local over time implemented a lot of effective ways to ensure employees’ legitimate rights and interests both in material and spiritual aspects. The trade union local also joined hands with the company’s directorate to well realize policies on welfare, bonus…for employees. In addition, the trade union local attached special importance to organizing conferences for employees, year-end parties, cultural-sports festivals…With such practical deeds, the trade union local won employees’ faith, contributing to building up harmonious and stable labor relations…
Since early this year, additional 209 trade union locals have been set up with more than 64,000 trade unionists, bringing the total number of trade union locals in the province to 2,751 with 564,000 trade unionists. Bui Thanh Nhan, Vice-Chairman of provincial Labor Union said that provincial trade unions at all levels have continued improving their operations in both content and form in a bid to successfully carry out entrusted tasks, including focusing on taking care of employees’ lives and protecting their legitimate rights & interests. Over the past time, the province attached special importance to establishing trade union locals and developing members, thereby taking better care of employees’ lives. Provincial trade unions at all levels also organized many practical activities to look after employees’ spiritual and material lives.
The relations between employers and employees during the year-end period are very delicate. According to Mr.Nhan, provincial trade unions at all levels are stepping up activities towards building up harmonious and stable labor relations among enterprises; focusing on taking care of the spiritual and material lives of employees, especially those at enterprises facing difficulties…They will also speed up dissemination of information so that employers and employees can well realize the labor law. Especially, they will have good preparations for plans taking care of employees during the 2015 Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.
