The Chief Inspector of provincial Department of Information and Communications has issued a decision to impose administrative punishment on N.V.H. (living in Dinh Hoa ward’s quarter 8 in Thu Dau Mot city) with a total fine of VND 5 million for posting false information on his Facebook account.
Previously, by professional measures, Thu Dau Mot city’s police coordinated with Dinh Hoa ward’s police to investigate the "Hung Viet" Facebook account owned by N.V.H. The man posted false information with the content that the State has spent State budget as well as contributions by individuals on localities to support people facing difficulties, due to Covid-19 pandemic. He said that the local authorities have cut back the subsidies, prioritized them to acquaintances while those in real difficulty were not received!
Working with functional officials, the man said he had read this information on social networks, then copied, edited and posted it on his Facebook account. With convincing evidence, he admitted that the information that he posted on his Facebook account was completely untrue. At the working session, he admitted his wrongdoing, removed the above content and pledged not to repeat it….
