On the entrusted functions and tasks, the provincial Construction Department has over the past 8 years reached many results. Notably, quality of architectural management as well as planning on construction and technical infrastructure have been improved significantly.
Well implementation of planning management
Over the past 8 years, one of important results done by the department is to launch project of urban and rural planning, functional planning and detailed planning and more, basically meeting orientation of local socio-economic development.
From 2007-2013, the local Construction Department implemented and submitted a common planning on Binh Duong urban construction till 2020 and vision 2030 the Ministry of Construction and project of building planning adjustment of Thu Dau Mot urban area till 2020. As a result, these projects were ratified, making a premise on Binh Duong urban development orientation.
Besides, the department held a meeting to assess 15 tasks of construction planning; submit 21 construction planning projects for approval; counsel for approval of adjusting golf area in Binh Duong industry-service and urban complex. In 2014 alone, the department assessed and submitted 12 tasks, 19 planning projects for approval.
Accordingly, the province-based urban areas were basically set up and assessed and approved planning projects including common planning of 5 urban areas of Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An, Ben Cat and Tan Uyen and 7 out of 9 satellite urban areas (Bau Bang, Tan Thanh, Dau Tieng, Long Hoa, Minh Hoa, Ben Suc, Phuoc Vinh); functional planning; detailed planning of 5 projects such as industrial parks, compounds, culture-tourism-sport area and more.
Nguyen Thanh Tai, director of the local construction department said that construction planning projects meet requirements of building and launching and developing urban areas. In addition, construction planning projects attracted many investment projects, contributing positively to local socio-economic development.
At present, Binh Duong urban space has been synchronously developed on model of urban cluster and satellite urban area. Additionally, the department has made efforts to launch and implement roadmap of upgrading Thuan An, Di An, Ben Cat and Tan Uyen into urban areas class IV and Phu Giao, Dau Tieng, Bau Bang and North Tan Uyen into urban ones class V.
Nguyen Hong Khanh, chairman of Ben Cat town People’s Committee said that after separation, Ben Cat town well implemented planning and planning adjustment from districts to towns and now strives to become urban area class III in the coming time.
Strong development of building infrastructure structure
Over the past years, investment of building infrastructure structure reached many important achievements, creating development of industry, service, urban and rural areas and more. At present, Binh Duong urban area basically gains technical and social infrastructure structure, meeting requirements of urban area class I.
Especially, in the period of 2007-2013, the local construction department approved an overall planning of cemeteries till 2030 and vision 2050 and supplemented solid waste treatment plant at Tan My commune, Tan Uyen district. In 2014 alone, the department designed 39 investment projects and checked investors’ implementation of repairing, upgrading traffic, lighting, green tree systems to carry out Decision No. 03/2014/QD-UBND and Decision No.22/2013/QD-UBND.
As for water supply, the department applied and put into use of Tan Hiep water plant, checked and put into use of water supply works such as South Thu Dau Mot with capacity of 45,000 cubic meters/ per night and day, My Phuoc with capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per day and night, etc.
Presently, infrastructure system of industrial parks, urban, trade and service areas have been formed up on modern trend. Water supply and drainage systems have met 97% of local population and improved flooding situation. Besides, urban lighting system has been invested and designed underground network and among others.
Development of infrastructure structure has contributed to spur economic growth and improve local residents’ life. Nguyen Thanh Tai added that to become urban area class I prior to 2020, the department will improve efficiency of the State management on urban management and planning to control local urban development.
With the done results, the department was awarded the third class Labor Order by the State President.
