This year, the 2024 provincial "Ripe Fruit Season" festival will take place from June 15 to 22 in Cau Ngang area in Thuan An city’s Hung Dinh ward. Currently, provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is coordinating with relevant departments, sectors and localities to prepare for the organization of the festival to take place as planned, contributing to promoting the image of Binh Duong’s land and people.

The "Ripe Fruit Season" festival has become a major brand and cultural event for many years, often being held during the fruit season in the Cau Ngang area in the 5th lunar month every year to promote the images of Binh Duong’s land, people and specialty fruit products to tourists from near and far. The festival is also an opportunity for the province, localities and units to connect, expand markets, promote trade and call for investment in tourism to contribute to promoting the province's economy and tourism.

With these practical meanings, the province has paid more attention to this year's festival and has directed relevant departments, sectors to coordinate with Thuan An city where the festival takes place and other localities to jointly have good preparations so that the festival will take place successfully, affirming the brand, creating a safe, joyful, healthy festive space, leaving a good impression on everyone's hearts.
According to Bui Huu Toan, Director of provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this year's festival is expected to have about 100 booths participating with many diverse activities to serve people and tourists who come to visit, shop and have fun. Serving activities throughout this year's festival are a fruit fair and a culinary - tourism festival with the theme of "Sweet of the South". Along with booths introducing fruits and products made from Binh Duong’s famous fruits such as mangosteen, durian, grapefruit...In this space, there are also specialty fruits of the provinces and cities in the Easternern and Southwesern regions, jointly participating in the exhibition to serve the shopping and enjoyment needs of people and tourists.
Along with that, this year's festival also includes activities displaying artistic fruits; displaying orchids and ornamental birds; selling fruit trees, ceramic products, lacquer and typical dishes and drinks of Binh Duong as well as provinces and cities in the Eastern and Southwestern regions.
In the series of the festival’s activities, provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with provincial Literature and Arts Association, provincial Women's Union and the People's Committees of districts and cities to organize a contest on "Charming Binh Duong" to vote for beautiful, charming and talented women, representing the cultural beauty of Binh Duong people. This year's festival also has meaningful and exciting activities such as "Road of ripe fruit season" cross-country tournament; beautiful photo contest of the ripe fruit season with the theme of "Colors of the homeland"; exhibition on Binh Duong tourism’s beautiful photos; “Don ca tai tu” (South folk opera) and nightly cultural performances.
Preparing urgently
At the most recent meeting, Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee directed departments, sectors, localities and the festival’s specialized groups to focus on implementing the contents of work under the plan assigned by provincial Organization Board on major holidays. In addition to using State budget under the regulations, Mr.Ha also asked for relevant departments, sectors and units to call and mobilize more resources from the society to participate in the festival so that it takes place vibrantly, aesthetically, uniquely, safely, practically... to serve and meet the needs of people from all strata in and out of the province.
To prepare well for the organization of the 2024 "Ripe Fruit Season" festival, in the last weekend, a delegation of the festival’s Organization Board, led by Bui Huu Toan, came to inspect and survey the site of organizing the festival in Cau Ngang area. The delegation conducted a field survey and listened to reports from relevant units on the progress of site preparation, stage diagram for the opening ceremony, arrangement of fruit and food stalls, decorative miniatures and other related contents.
Through inspection and survey, Mr. Toan requested the units to speed up the progress of site preparation, construction and installation of booths for each activity under the proposed plan, especially careful preparation for the opening ceremony program. Along with that, units need to pay attention to the coordination between relevant units in ensuring security and order, have plans to regulate and make traffic diversion properly, pay attention to safety for fire and explosion prevention, food safety and hygiene, well realize environmental hygiene around the festival’s area.
With the attention of the province, the coordination of departments, sectors and localities in implementing relavant activities, the 2024 "Ripe Fruit Season" festival is organized by the province with many exciting and attractive activities, further affirming the brand, thereby creating a separate tourism product associated with the land and people here, meeting the entertainment needs of tourists coming to Binh Duong, especially during the summer.
