Apart from assurance of epidemic prevention and control, in 2020, many enterprises in Tan Uyen town tried their best to find orders, secure jobs, and generate income to workers, and carried out many practical ways to care for employees.
In addition to taking care of workers, epidemic prevention control at enterprises was performed seriously.
Tan Nhat Company (expanded Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Park) is an example; the company has taken good care of workers' lives. The company has about 2,000 workers, but in the past year, guaranteed an average monthly income of VND8-10 million for their employees. Managers gained an income over VND20 million/month. Nguyen Van Dung, Trade Union Chairman of the company, said that in March 2020, the company gave their workers one month off according to the direction about social distance to prevent epidemic, not had no orders. Company leaders have reputable partners in production activities, thereby ensuring that employees always have a stable income. During that month, each worker was supported and received VND2.5 million; and 5 months later, they continued to receive VND 500,000/person. “As a manager, but when there is a worker of the company having accidents, illnesses or difficulties, if we do not taken care of that worker in time, managers will be disciplined by directors board. At Tan Nhat Company, workers must be the top concern”, Mr. Nguyen said.
Hoang Thanh Nhan, manager of painting lines of Tan Nhat Company, said: “I have been working at Tan Nhat Company for 4 years, currently earning is about 23 million VND per month. Previously I worked for other companies, but was not carefully cared as here. This company operates in wood industry, so the painting steps are also quite simple, not much toxic. However, the average income of workers in the group is around VND 10 million/month, depending on their overtime period”. According to Mr. Hoang, when a worker need to take a day off quickly, they just need to call to notify managers, there is no deduction from salary for this off day. Sick workers, or workers in extremely difficult circumstances, also have allowances. If an employee unfortunately has an illness or accidental death, the company will visit their family, and pay funeral costs, sometimes this amount will be up to over one hundred million VND / case.
Especially, on every Tet festival, the company always pays 13th-month-salary bonuses, allowances, and organize many cultural programs, year-end parties with happy spring activities, lucky draws. Annual special prizes are motorbikes, televisions, refrigerators... To extremely difficult circumstances, the company has special presents. Mr. Nguyen added that this year the epidemic was raging, the company did not hold party; gifts were converted to money and given to workers. The company's motto is to always create favourable conditions for workers to welcome a prosperous New Year.
In Tan Uyen town, there are many other companies that also take good care of workers' lives, such as Response VN Company, Viet Y Company. These are enterprises with quite a large number of workers. Le Van Bien, Trade Union Chairman of Response VN Company, said due to the impact of Covid-19, although workers' income was reduced, it was small and did not affect workers' daily activities. Since June 2020, all activities of the company have returned to normal. The company believed in epidemic prevention control plans, all employees wholeheartedly completed their work as planned. “From June 2020, our company has developed Youth Union membership from 450 to 683. Workers' income regularly increases, welfare regimes are guaranteed. During this Lunar New Year, in addition to the 13-month-salary, the company has bonuses as well as subsidies for our employees, it is estimated at VND 900 million, 1.5 times higher than in 2019”.
Leaders of enterprises in Tan Uyen town said that besides taking good care of workers' lives, they have not been subjective, always raise their awareness of disease prevention and control; make clear medical report every time they take leave or have a long-distance business trip; continue implementing some necessary disease prevention and control processes in the community.
