In 2010, after ending the Binh Duong provincial project of prevention of home violence and social evil penetration into families for the period of 2006-2010, the provincial department of Culture, Sport and Tourism gave advices to the provincial People’s Committee to ratify the provincial action plan on domestic violence control for the period 2011-2015 and simultaneously to set up a steering board to implement the action plan in a bid to continue launching the model in the subsequent years.
Annually, the steering board of domestic violence control at localities will base on plans of launching models of home violence control, build action plans and simultaneously choose communes, wards and townships where have high rates of home violence to launch the models, establish clubs for sustainable family development and reinforce mediation teams at grassroot levels.
In addition, the localities should hold training classes to launch the Law on Domestic Violence Control, the Law on Family and Marriage, the Law on Gender Equality, instruct grassroot levels to build, manage clubs for sustainable family development and mediation teams at grassroot levels and so on.
Since 2008, the entire province has launched and put 220 clubs for sustainable family development, 220 groups of home violence control and 220 mediation teams into operation throughout 40 communes, wars and townships out of 7 districts, towns and city.
The models’ operation have over the past years contributed to raise local residents’ awareness on home violence control, the Party and State’s instructions and policies on family work, gender equality law and family and marriage law.
Launching the model of domestic violence control has contributed to change mass cadres, party members and people’s awareness on family and marriage. In the past, domestic violence was considered as a private matter but now it is considered as a common responsibility of the whole society.
Through the models’ operations, individuals and groups learn more about their rights and duties as well as about the Law on Domestic Violence Control, Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Marriage and Family to minimize the number of home violence cases in their families. Additionally, sisters have enjoyed more knowledge on reproduction healthcare, skill on building and preserving a happy family.
