On April 13, Binh Duong provincial Traffic Safety Committee organized a review of 5 years of emulation to ensure traffic safety order and the campaign to construct the movement of "traffic culture with peaceful waterways in 2016-2020”; at the same time the directions and tasks for 2021-2025 are implemented. Traffic status well transformed year on year
Nguyen Anh Minh, Director of Department of Transport, said that from 2016 to 2020, the traffic situation in the province has gradually positively changed. The whole province had 8,664 accidents of traffic accidents, killing 1,532 people, injuring 9,054, and damaging 13,673 vehicles. In general, traffic accidents tended to decrease year on year, but traffic accidents remained at a high level and mainly for road traffic accidents. In the two years 2019 and 2020, traffic accidents were reduced in all 3 criteria from 5 to 10%, especially traffic accidents in 2020 decreased deeply.
According to Binh Duong provincial Traffic Safety Committee, in order to gradually reduce traffic accidents in all 3 criteria, over the past time, agencies, departments, and localities have many interesting and lively ways that are suitable to the specific situation of each industry and locality. Specifically, the implementation of 5-year programs has been built and organized such as emulation to ensure traffic safety order; propagating, advocating and handling violations of alcohol-related drivers of road motor vehicles; the campaign to build the movement of "traffic culture with peaceful waterways" etc. At the same time, the Traffic Safety Committee also advised Binh Duong provincial People's Committee to coordinate with the National Traffic Safety Committee, mass organizations and agencies to organize national-level activities in Binh Duong such as Vietnam Traffic Safety Conference 2017, great ceremony to pray for victims of death caused by traffic accidents, the launching ceremony of the Veterans' movement to participate in maintaining traffic safety and order, Youth Day with culture of traffic, etc.
As part of a series of emulation activities to ensure traffic safety and order, the traffic safety boards of the province, districts, towns and cities have also cooperated with departments, sectors and unions to propagate traffic laws to schools, factories, establishments, and residential groups in diversified forms; at the same time, every year, collectives and individuals review in order to promptly commend and reward the good ones.
Many good models
Reporting at the conference, Vo Van Minh, Chief of Thu Dau Mot City Police, said that the locality has brought into play the effectiveness of the security camera model in monitoring security and order of traffic safety in the areas. Up to now, the locality has equipped thousands of "divine eyes" on key routes. The image from the "divine eye" system will help functional forces to promptly detect unexpected situations and participate in handling. Notably, the locality has focused on fine tickets of traffic violations. Only since August 2020, the police force of Thu Dau Mot City Police has detected and sent fine tickets to more than 500 cases of wrong parking.
Meanwhile, in the area of Thuan An City, where the "3-color shirt" model of the police, the military command and the Youth Union in ensuring traffic safety order has brought into play effectively. Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of People's Committee of Thuan An city, said the model has brought into full play the propaganda of the laws to young people, especially workers.
Talking about promoting the effectiveness of the models in the area, Nguyen Trong An, Chairman of Ben Cat Town People's Committee, said that Ben Cat Town has focused on applying information technology to the work of declaring legislation, especially the Law on Road Traffic to the people. Previously, in 2019, in order to launch a creative movement and seek new practical ideas and models as well as effective solutions in solving problems of traffic safety and urban order, in the town area, Ben Cat Town Traffic Safety Board organized a contest of "New models and good ways to ensure traffic safety and urban order in the town." The Organizing Committee received 35 entries from units and individuals inside and outside of the town with contents about propaganda, planning, leadership, management, and administration. The organizing committee decided to award 2 prizes to 2 highly applicable contests. Up to now, these two models have been initially effective and continue to be replicated in the coming time.
