In the morning of May 5, at the provincial Labor Culture Center in Thuan An city, the provincial People's Committee and the provincial Trade Union held a ceremony to launch the Workers' Month and the Action Month on occupational safety and health of 2022. Attending the ceremony was Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Deputy Chairman of the Vietnamese General Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Standing Member, Head of the provincial Committee for Mass Mobilization, Chairman of the provincial Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Member of the provincial Party Committee, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee and representatives of the committees of the Vietnamese General Trade Union and the provincial departments and agencies.
Many practical care-taking activities
According to Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of the provincial Trade Union, in the Workers' Month and the Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2022, the provincial Trade Union will focus on 10 key activities to take care of the lives of union members and employees after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Specifically, the unit will offer support to workers who have occupational accidents or diseases; the second "Vietnamese Trade Union" saving book is given to children orphaned by the COVID-19 epidemic; market selling goods at the original and preferential price or VND 0 is organized; the general examination and free health consultation for workers and workers' children is organized; the provincial Red Cross is coordinated with to organize the VND 0 market for about 6,000 families of workers in hardship; the contest of "Singing of Workers" with the theme of "work ending leisure" is organized; legal consultancy, vocational training enrollment, and book fair are also organized.

In addition, trade unions at all levels also advise and propose Party committees and authorities to visit and give gifts to 5,000 families of union members and workers in extremely difficult circumstances, suffering from serious diseases, occupational accidents, spouse/child dies due to Covid-19. The provincial Trade Union advises and organizes a dialogue conference between the provincial leaders and trade union members and employees with the topic of "Worker's life after the COVID-19 pandemic."
Mr. Le Hoai Tam, a union member, working at Yazaki EDS Co. Ltd. in Di An city, said that from mid-2021, he and company workers must participate in 3 on-site production for 3 months. In a closed environment with many unexpected expenses, they showed a lot of anxiety. “However, the attentive care from all levels of government, the Board of Directors of the company to the Executive Committee of the trade union has helped us to stabilize our jobs and life. On the occasion of Workers' Month in 2022, we promise to constantly try and do our best to overcome all drawbacks to actively emulate production labor and effectively implement the program of "1 million initiatives" launched by the Vietnamese General Trade Union to bring solutions in production, safety at work, and contribution to the business to overcome difficulties and for the overall development of Binh Duong province," Mr. Tam said.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha emphasized that provincial leaders have always identified workers as an important force in the province's socio-economic development. Therefore, in the past time in direction and administration, Binh Duong province has been focusing on implementing to quickly, synchronously and drastically ensure the effective implementation of guidelines, tasks and solutions to socio-economic recovery and development while speeding up the implementation of policies to ensure jobs and workers' lives.
In the first 5 months of 2022, although the context of the world economic and political situation is volatile and the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic is still complicated and prolonged, with the synchronous and drastic intervention and due to the timely response of sectors, levels, the business community, the consent and response of all classes of people, especially the workforce in the province, the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic in the province has changed and been under control; the province's socio-economic development continues to make remarkable progress.

“Over the years of organization, Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health have really become a peak time to take care of workers, a great festival of the workforce in the whole province. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu suggested that the Trade Union of Binh Duong province should focus on performing 5 key tasks in the coming time including the continual propagation of the glorious historical tradition of the Vietnamese working class. Men in the team of union members and workers in the province with focus on taking care of union members and employees, especially those in extremely difficult circumstances affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, occupational diseases, and occupational accidents; activities to develop union members are promoted and establish new grassroots trade union organizations at enterprises, especially in small and medium enterprises; patriotic emulation movements are promoted in association with studying and following President Ho Chi Minh; authorities at all levels are proactively advised to remove difficulties and take good care of workers' lives.
